I think colonists should be given a pouch or backpack on them when in caravan. Just like muffalo and for aesthetics...

I think this could easily apply in the colony too. If they're hauling anything heavier than, for example, 5 kg, they could be shown with a backback. I guess minified things like stoves or benches wouldn't count, but other than that, it shjould make sense.
