Title: How can I change 'pants' into 'trousers'?
Post by: Falc8 on May 14, 2019, 12:26:24 PM
Pants means something different in British English so I would like to change all instances of 'pants' into 'trousers', just as the Queen would like me to.
Thanks

I haven't checked but it might be a simple XML edit in one or two files. What are your text editing skills like?

Check out the Language Files... Not the Defs...

So no need for patching the files... Just a Simple New Language File in your English mod folder should do the trick...

Check out the Steel is Iron Mod (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=41673.0)... If you look inside my mod, it just has a language folder and no defs nor patches. It was all done by using DefInjected

Thanks for your reply guys. I feel quite confident in editing text files, I was able to rename 'Fall' to 'Autumn' following advice in another thread.

Looking at the above mod, it looks like I would need to put an xml file as follows:

<Pants.label>Trousers</Pants.label>

Do you know the name of the xml file that I would need to put into DeInjected?

Sure!

English/DefInjected/ThingDef/Apparel_Various.xml

That's where the Pants is.

EDIT: Just copy the different language folders like a different one, and create a mod with the same structure except replace the diffrent language into English. Simple as that.
