Title: How to handle credits and licensing issue of a music mod?
Post by: Aichi_Chikuwa on October 18, 2019, 08:01:46 PM
As the title suggests, I want to make a music mod but the copyright problem confuses me.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1872570102 (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1872570102) This mod gives a disclaimer, all credits and licensing, yet
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1555880630 (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1555880630) this mod simply has one sentence saying music used was from [video game name], made by [author] of [game company].
Can anyone tell me where to draw the line please?

Music sources which are intended for re-use provide a copyright notice which determines how you're allowed to use the music. If you can't find such a notice, basically it's got full copyright to the author and you could best find another song which is intended for fair use or whatever.
