Title: Installation on Linux
Post by: Fargotroniac on November 02, 2021, 04:29:46 AM
Hi,

I plan to switch to Linux and have purchased the game through GoG. There are installers for Linux available for download and these are .sh files.

It's alright? Is it possible to set this method of installation to which directory the installation will take place? For example / home / Fargotroniac / Games / RimWorld?

And why not use a .deb package, for example?

Thank you

I don't have the GoG version, but typically GoG installers give you the option to change the destination folder.

Ask GoG. It's their installer. Had you purchased directly from https://rimworldgame.com/ (https://rimworldgame.com/), you would have .tar.gz archives and a Steam key.
I like the simple .tar.gz distribution method, makes testing multiple versions of the game easy.

Unfortunately, I already have the game from them and I don't use Steam much. Precisely because of their directory system for games and modifications.
