When using the "Build copy" option on an ideogram, the ghost blue print will always show the first ideogram that is in the build menu, regardless of which one was copied. Placing the blue print will also show that one.
Here I am copying the Pentient Emblem and it put down a blue print for the Hominid Image instead:

I hope it's okay to "revive" an old bug report that was locked, because there seemed to be a misunderstanding on what was actually reported. This bug is still present in 1.3.3200. (Old post: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=55548.msg492292#msg492292)

In response to your reply there: No, people will not build the ideogram of their own ideology. They will always build the ideogram the blueprint shows. There is no ideological restrictions to building ideograms (even if bigoted) as long as the builder has the type of ideogram/altar in their own ideology, which might be a bug itself. If the type of ritual building is different (ideogram/small altar/medium altar/large altar), people can just straight up not build it (if not being an individualist). What you might think of are styled buildables like tables or columns which always take the style of the people building them.
Bigot build ideogram of another ideology:

If you do deem this a bug, I hope you just put build restriction on this like for every other ideological building and not actually make it so they always build their own ritual building regardless of what blueprint it put down. That would just lead to annoying micromanagement when building, creating buildings you did not put down. It would also be problematic with individualists.
------
To be clear what the games seems to do on copy:
It takes the first ritual building of that type (ideogram/the 3 altars) from the build menu regardless of which of the ideograms you copied. It then has that building as a placeable build blue print. You cannot place a ritual building with the copy button unless its the first of its type in the build list. Others are not possible to copy. The building restrictions for pawns then are: buildable if the type of ritual building are in their ideology (or individual), else restricted.
It seems like just types are checked and not the exact buildings both for the copy and the build restriction.
Feel free to ask for clarification. Sorry for not noticing your response to the old topic (though I don't know if it was locked instantly anyway.)
Thanks for the bug report, I have reproduced this in 1.3.3235. I don't mind if you revive old bugs if it seems like I misunderstood the bug report or the bug still is in game and I've stated it's not. I'll get this one into the devs.
