Mine i original used for roblox back in 2008. Because i could remember it so easy i started useing it for everything, plus i think it sounds nice too.
Beta - Was one of my most successful accounts on a game.
Spectre - I lurk around alot xD
I am (well, actually used to be) a pretty proficient fiction writer, a master of stories, you see. Though after my Graduate class, work, and a baby, writing has gone down a few notches on the priority list.
As for the Q, it has always been my favorite letter in the alphabet. So when I was creating my online identity, knowing full well that just 'storymaster' is quite common, I added it.
To this day, all StorymasterQ found on Google is me.
It's my name 8)
Imaginative and creative, I know, I know.
Way back in the days of Unreal Tournament I had the name Ubercow, because I liked playing the Nali Warcow. Then I moved on to other games where I wasn't a cow, so it picked Ubernova, because I think the word nova is pretty, and I liked being uber.
Then came World of Warcraft and I made my first character, a Tauren shaman. To my horror the name Ubernova was already taken on that server, so I chose Snownova, since my Tauren had white fur. Ever since I've used Snownova, since it's much less common than any of the previous names I've used.
I think this thread is a great idea.
My username is nothing special: my first name and the beginning of my last name.
I am mainly chipping in so I get notifications when more people post their stories. ;)
The story behind mine is pretty simple, I played a game called Kingdoms of Camelot and on that game new players are usually bullied by high level players. I didn't like that so I created an alliance where small players could join and be protected by me and other allies. I knew I needed a username that represented what I do, so I came up with SlayerDecayer and over the years this has developed into MrDecay
Easy - A few years back, a friend trying to rap called me "Mattorious" to make my name (Matthew) rhyme. It stuck, and I use it for everything now.
Well in real life I never had a specific nickname, but I played a lot of pen and paper RPGs, so using a name for a purpose meant for me that it also represented a certain character.
On the internets I started out with Robot Marvin, but later on that name I chose on a whim had too much of a depressing side, so very deliberately I formed my new nickname.
It consists of the three characters I like a lot of my favorite sci-fi books.
- Pirx stands for the Pilot Pirx from the books by Stanislaw Lem.
- Dan stands for R Daneel Olivaw - the robot making an appearance in a lot of Isaac Asimovs books.
- Ford stands for the character Ford Prefect from Douglas Adams Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
I encountered a lot of Pirxes, Dans and some Fords but as of yet my nickname in its complete version is unique :-)

Can't believe you missed the chance to say that "[it] has decayed into MrDecay."

Well, first off 'daft'...Back in the 90's, 92ish :o I picked up the name whilst playing AD&D. I always played a rogue/mage and the ways I dealt with scenarios, general mayhem/with a dash of humor, lead to one day one of my friends calling me daft. 10 YEARS ago, I was involved with WoW beta... :-X and the name was again brought up again...same group of friends different game. After that it stuck around..that was 2004. The '73', is simple...date of birth.
Soma, nickname Somzer, Somz for short. Don't ask why.
Though I have two more, of which one is the result of the intense headbanging of my keyboard (Zuferavfehysagrejih, max char number). I've invented this method to solve the problem of already taken names, but usually prefer not to use it since it's kinda long.
And "Cyst" because... In short I'm an irritating tumor on people's backs in games. Camper, engineer, healer, for some reason I stick to the "useful and annoying" roles in games, so people are either with me, or hate me.
And because it sounds too cool.
Well, I got stuck making a username way back in 2004 and even back then I didn't want to get stuck with a "xxnamexx" then I decided to just go with something similar to Stefanstr.
It's amazing, Occam's Razor even applies to usernames!
its my second name and nobody calls me that. but I like it, so the internet calls me minami! yay! and my fav number :D
I used this name in DayZ first, because I wanted something related to the game or zombies in general.
It's also a reference to a task about moral decisions we had in school. I think it was about some organ transplantation and you had to decide if Mr. X or Mrs. Y should get it. The doctors name was Dr.Z and we found it pretty funny because it sounded like a comic villian, so it was in my mind when creating a identity in DayZ.
Also, in my series of trashy usernames, I like this one the most, so I started to use it with other online activities.
well my original user name is Blackjack1000K, which i changed to Celthric Aysen since Blackjack1000K is starting to get old,
I got Celthric from this image:
as it describes most things about me, well besides her not disliking spicy food and her liking mikumikudance, and her being female, and because i liked the looks of the character (anime addict) 8)
and "Aysen'' means "Beautiful like the moon" in Turkish. I'm not Turkish tho, just thought of picking the ''Aysen'' because it seems like a pretty neat name :)
In High School I decided I didn't like my first, middle or last name, so I made up a new cooler name. Matthias is so much cooler than Matthew (my name). My middle name was to be Atticus, from To Kill A Mockingbird. My last name became Green, because it is my favorite color is green and I wore it for 8 years straight without missing a day. The name never really caught on with anybody IRL and I never legally changed it, but it is now my online persona. MatthiasAtticusGreen is too long for most character limits, but MatthiasAGreen seems to work. No one ever seems to pick it. Luckily there is no Matthias A Green IRL or if there is, he must get frustrated every time he tries to make a username. :)

<OBLIGATORY MOVING TEXT>
First username I used online was Shadow. Probably spurred on by my (minor) obsession with Jagged Alliance 2, and owing to my predilection to staying on the periphery and remaining unseen (gaming and irl I suppose).
Shadow changed whilst I was playing a lot of Counter Strike back in the day (maybe 2000 or so) and a common opponent I faced was a ShadowLord and that just wouldn't do. So changed to Kage (which is shadow in Japanese) since I started my healthy obsession with all things Japanese.
Kage changed once more since I got tired of being called Cage (likely due to a healthy dislike of Nicolas Cage). So I changed it to Kagemusha which literally translates to Shadow Warrior which I quite liked. Can't recall if I chose the name with knowledge of the film though...but since it is a film and is quite common I often have to make adjustments to it for online profiles. More often than not Kagemusha1945 (Just like the combination of numbers, WWII hobbyist too).
I have friends who call me Kage irl to this day and most of them met me as Kagemusha but most find Kage easier. Now being in Japan and learning kanji I might make the last transition to 影武者 but then few of the people I play games with would be able to speak to me by name :P
Of interest kagemusha is sometimes used as a synonym for stunt-doubles in the Japanese film industry.

Heh, Shadow would of had to have been one of my more preferred mercs in JA2. Kinda cool you stuck with the same name and instead went through alternate languages though.
In my case my sister is to blame, or rather a game she played (The legend of Spyro) which has a volcano called Boyzitbig (even in the subtitles) and I like volcanoes and fire (although prefer to be cold weirdly) so I chose the name.
Sometimes go by other names (some form of "Jarwind" typically, which was randomly chosen) most of which have no other backstory.
*cough*
It's my name (therefore easy to remember) :P
Because one day I had to choose a username and I couldn't think of anything.
It was either ITypedThis, or maybe something like "PungentRectangles." Sometimes I wonder what life would have been like if I had chosen differently...

It'd probably be quite pungent.
I watched a TV programme called revolution last year and based my name on one of the characters who reminds me of myself. Plus this name is a fake alias i use on the web haha ;-)
i used to have Mightyfox though till i left college.
I first started using this back in 2005, i picked it because i would never forget it... At least i tell myself that, i forgot why i used it about 7 years ago :P

*Bah dum tss*
I got mine from some fans I picked up when I used to DJ at a particular lesbian club.
Mine comes from a fictional character I made up for the TLOU universe, a member of the U.S. military known as Dawson 'Rainbow' Halinder. It was a completely random name thought up as needed for the character, and so came the username. Then came its variation, A Halindrical Object, came along and began replacing just about anything that wasn't needed for forums.
So I like ponies. Especially Post-Apoctalyptic ponies.
But I still like ponies. So I chose 'Rainbowlicious' because no one was using it and it's my World of Tanks username. Although, I use General Rarity on the KSP forums...
Oh man...^^ when i was little, my brother teached me how to use DOS and how to play with the PC.
The first game i played was Sid Meiers Pirates! and i dunno why but the whole pirate genre grabbed me. (to bad that the topic does not produce many good games :()
And with the internet my nickname was born: Buccee (Buccaneer i just removed some letters :P)
Mine is a bastardization of a different nick I often use.
i've been using my name since i was called it in school. basiclyi'm bad at talking to people in real life cuz i explode... in a flurry of words (:P) [basicly i just yabber on and on about stuff until they leave me alone]
I like it and it kinda fits nicely. i go by JebKerman (character in KSP) on the sphax texture forums and normally AntiMatter001/Antimatter001 on everything else.
so yeah... just don't put matter on me and you should return to your loving family with all you limbs still there...
...and maybe half of your face...
I usually take the names of lesser known historic personae that I've taken an interest in and revere.
Karl August Varnhagen von Ense was a german author, politician and officer in the first half of the 19th century and took part in the Liberation Wars against Napoleon. The Varnhagens are a prolific minor noble family from the Rhine area and spread around the world, most notably South America. Another commonly known member of the family was Rahel Varnhagen-Levin. The name stuck with me, since I read it first in an appendix to some dusty paper and I thought: "Great name, might make a character of it." A couple weeks later a young knight named Varnhagen von Bruchfels (Varnhagen is a way cooler first than last name) surfaced in my PnP group.
I'm a filthy communist, Crimson is my favourite colour and ComradeCrimson sounds badass. Simple, effective. Plus I never seen it used before, somehow.
The name of my first music company, in the mid 90's, was Mystic Fire Music. Prior to that I'd used other names online, but ever since then it's usually been Mystic or some permutation thereof in almost any online forum. About the time that music project ran out of steam, I also ran a semi-popular HOTAS stick config website for a couple of years called Mystic's Six Degrees of Freedom, and that helped the name stick, too. For a long time there it seemed like I had more people calling me Mystic than calling me by my real name. ::)
It was the dawn of a new age. I splashed the cash and forked out for a state of the art pentium 386 and found chat rooms. After a while got bored and found a text based roleplaying game called Dragonrealms (which is still going!) and was going to create a moon mage. So I chose the name Luna. Sadly it was already taken and I decided to give it a Welsh feel and come up with Lluna. I have no connection with Wales and then I decided I was going to be a thief instead as I couldn't find the moon mage guild to join! So that is that. I add the UK part at sites I need a longer user name then 5 letters! :D
My first username I had online is one I've stuck with for YEARS. I finally changed it to a better one; Eradrann.
However, no-one could spell it correctly for some reason, so they started calling me Minus after my depressed pony character. For quite a while it actually bothered me, but now I've come to like it. It also makes it funnier when people tell me I'm too negative, which I am.
The arcades. You know, you used to input a 3 letter code when you broke a record (many many times has this happened). It was different when I was younger. But then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltmnDKuqom0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltmnDKuqom0) WILD 9 came about.
The main character is Wex Major. And that's my nick almost everywhere.
was my grandpas nickname for me
first time i used it was for webkinz
(DONT JUDGE ME)
use it for literally everything
actually about a year ago i switched to gatorfang for about a month then switched back
^was because of a RTD game i played on bay12 fourms
(we really need a roll to dodge on the rimworld fourm)
Going to necro this because its quite a timeless topic. :P
Mine consists of 2 parts (doh), each with its own history.
The first one, the DF, stands for Daniel Ferel, which is the name I've been using in SciFi RPGs and the like since I was 8 or 9 years old. Daniel is my own first name, and the Ferel might be a misspelled Feral, don't really remember since it was far too long ago. :D
I've been using that name for a lot of stuff since then. For example I released Doom 2, Heretic and Hexen maps under that name, back in the very early days of the internets. :D
The Delta part came a few years later, when the first Unreal was released, the first FPS that I remember to have played online.
Me and some friends had the idea to name ourselves after greek letters, and I've chosen Delta because it starts with a D, and I always liked how it sounds. Also its a badass triangle.
A year later, in Unreal Tournament, only one of my friends was left playing with me on a regular basis, but we still used the old names Omega and Delta, and we had a few favorite servers where we kicked *** on a regular basis.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, how did the DF and Delta become connected you might ask.
Well, around that time I got together with some guys that happened to also play on our favorite servers regularly, and we decided to tag ourselves. Thus the "Dominating Force" was born, (a rather silly name, but we were young and stupid) and my name became -=|DF|Delta|=-. Our little association, it could not really be called a clan, had a few servers where we would meet 2 or 3 times a week to kick *** and chew bubblegum.
That whole thing held together for a good 3 years, which might have been the greatest days of gaming I've ever experienced, but then suddenly one after the other dropped out or left, and in just 4 months the whole thing collapsed. One guy just disappeared without any sign why, one moved together with his long term girlfriend who could no stand "those brutal games", so he had to stop playing them (lol... sissy), and so on.
When we finally decided to "disband and move on" I did not want to lose the name that I've kept for so long now, and one of the other survivors pointed out that the initials of the nickname I'm using when I upload UT maps, and our clan tag are identical, so I could just change the meaning behind the DF.
And so I did.
So DFDelta is a combination of a name I've been using in RPGs for a longer time then some people I know have lived, the first name I've ever used in an online FPS, and the tag of my very first clan.
My name. There's not much more to it than that.
Well, the username I use most everywhere is Spyder, but it was taken here... My name here is simply me trying to get around someone else having the name. :)
Now, how did I get Spyder? Well, I play TF2 alot. And, in it, I play the spy alot. So, I was just like "What can replace this stupid username I've been using since I was 7? Well, I like to play spy, and I guess spiders are cool, and they would make some punny wordplay if combined, so why not that?".
It's an oldie. But essentially, Marvin the Martian, and Ambassador Kosh. *Foom* MarvinKosh.
If you don't get either of those references, well, sorry. :)
Well, my name i use for almost everything; droidcommander123456 it get old after a while, or after you mature. I mean HELL i still love star wars ;-; but... seeing when i signed up there wasn't NEARLY as many people, I chose a original name in a sense.
being 'Fruit loops'
If i continue to play RimWorld, it would be nice when the game get SUPER popular (I pray :P) that i will be that guy who has the original fruit loops name.
el - this part of my name comes from my surname. I was always known at Tyrrell due to being called Davis and there ware 7 of us in my year at school, this eventually got shorted to el, as a nickname.
Strages - is roughly Latin for Massicure.
So really elStrages is roughly Tyrrell Massicure.
Now I sound like a psycho. :D

i cri evrytim
I played most of the Halo games, and i liked Prophet Of Mercy (who died during a flood invasion) since he was more open to humans unlike the Prophets of Regret and Truth. Also, my real first name is Mercilous. So "Merci" is the first 5 letters of my real name...Replaced the "y" with "i".
Also in most games i play, i prefer the support type. No matter what guild/faction/corporation im in, I excel at keeping others alive and well supplied and/or being extremely helpful.
Mine is simply my name misspelled backwards, Derrick=Kirid. Then Sword Art Online came out and I feel like a cheap knockoff every time I see a Kirito.
QuoteTERENCE, this is stupid stuff:
You eat your victuals fast enough;
There can't be much amiss, 'tis clear,
To see the rate you drink your beer.
But oh, good Lord, the verse you make,
It gives a chap the belly-ache.
The cow, the old cow, she is dead;
It sleeps well, the horned head:
We poor lads, 'tis our turn now
To hear such tunes as killed the cow.
Pretty friendship 'tis to rhyme
Your friends to death before their time
Moping melancholy mad:
Come, pipe a tune to dance to, lad.
Why, if 'tis dancing you would be,
There's brisker pipes than poetry.
Say, for what were hop-yards meant,
Or why was Burton built on Trent?
Oh many a peer of England brews
Livelier liquor than the Muse,
And malt does more than Milton can
To justify God's ways to man.
Ale, man, ale's the stuff to drink
For fellows whom it hurts to think:
Look into the pewter pot
To see the world as the world's not.
And faith, 'tis pleasant till 'tis past:
The mischief is that 'twill not last.
Oh I have been to Ludlow fair
And left my necktie God knows where,
And carried half way home, or near,
Pints and quarts of Ludlow beer:
Then the world seemed none so bad,
And I myself a sterling lad;
And down in lovely muck I've lain,
Happy till I woke again.
Then I saw the morning sky:
Heigho, the tale was all a lie;
The world, it was the old world yet,
I was I, my things were wet,
And nothing now remained to do
But begin the game anew.
Therefore, since the world has still
Much good, but much less good than ill,
And while the sun and moon endure
Luck's a chance, but trouble's sure,
I'd face it as a wise man would,
And train for ill and not for good.
'Tis true, the stuff I bring for sale
Is not so brisk a brew as ale:
Out of a stem that scored the hand
I wrung it in a weary land.
But take it: if the smack is sour,
The better for the embittered hour;
It should do good to heart and head
When your soul is in my soul's stead;
And I will friend you, if I may,
In the dark and cloudy day.
There was a king reigned in the East:
There, when kings will sit to feast,
They get their fill before they think
With poisoned meat and poisoned drink.
He gathered all that springs to birth
From the many-venomed earth;
First a little, thence to more,
He sampled all her killing store;
And easy, smiling, seasoned sound,
Sate the king when healths went round.
They put arsenic in his meat
And stared aghast to watch him eat;
They poured strychnine in his cup
And shook to see him drink it up:
They shook, they stared as white's their shirt:
Them it was their poison hurt.
- I tell the tale that I heard told.
Mithridates, he died old.
A.E. Houseman - Terrence, this is Stupid Stuff.
I, too, am the King of Kings.
I was stoned.
That sums it up I think.
Emm.... My name is Adam. This is my story.
Nmid... was making a gaming nick for myself when I was .. like 13?14?
All the 'cool' sounding nicks were taken on gmail and hotmail and I was getting pissed.
I didn't want to add arbritary numbers at the end of my nick....... so
NoMoreIdsLeft@gmail
N M ID
Ps - I'm now 'editing' that backstory to say NMID is the nickname for NMIDL.
Oh boy the stroy behind my username is when I crashed a dirt bike when I was young I broke my jaw, loss about 3 teeth, and had burnt marks all over my body. So my brothers started calling me crashy. Although the origenal name was suppose to be Crashkiller because dad calls me killer.
If anyone here knows the story of the Irish Dullahan and the folklore behind the Dullahan then that basically explains my username. It caught my attention, that and Headless Horseman is normally taken on every other site/game I register; so this was a better option.
Well i like Dragons, back then when i choosed my name and then i just added some letters, so it sounds good.
Thats my story not really much xD
Over the years i've had quite alot of nicknames, after making a nameYearofbirth account on lol (Leauge Of Legends) i made my nickname from my favourite champ and playstyle. Le Blanc (LB) is an illusionist, she performs illusions. Her W spell is called distort, after playing around for a while,
Illusion Distort was my favourite. :D
My real name is billy, but when I was very little my friends and family kept calling me "copter" because I always had a police helicopter toy with me. the 32 stems from when I started runecraft, as billy32 was/is considered a cursed username on that website. however sinse that curse is only on runecraft I add "cop" to my name and the number to get my universal username, which you can find on sites like roblox, steam, wiki, and more. most billycop32s are me, and I usually can get websites to take down people who use my username for slander(it has happened)
Hmm, interesting.
I like the word A, as it is also an initial of my surname. Started out with the name "Agima" based from a TV show I couldn't remember if it even existed. But got tired of using it over the years, and because I couldn't really decide whether to say it like "gi" or "ji".
Now what I have is a shortened form of "AnonymousFriend". I don't really remember how I thought of it. I liked the way it sounded a bit mysterious and because it captured my tendency to sometimes randomly be nice to strangers I don't even know or was playing against with.
When allowed spaces, I prefer "A Friend" for its more deceptive nature. Because I also tend to shoot people in the back sometimes when I feel like it.
(Talkin' about games here. I'm not like that in RL. Don't look at me like that.)
I was trying to think up of a username and failing, and a random name from a random comic just happened to catch my eye. I just added a few letters here and there and...
After that, I just didn't bother to think up a different one. I'm not very creative with names you see.
Oh, and to A Friend, you kinda remind me of a guy from the book inheritance. The guy who tried to kill Roran while saying repeatedly saying 'I'm a friend!'
I acquired mine when i was 14 looking for a name for an email address that didn't have any numbers in.
One day while playing C&C generals, one of the cut scenes said "falcon base command center". So i shortened it a little to FalconCommand and it some how stuck from there.
Segrog=Gorges when backwards
Gorges=last name
pls dont find me and kill me now
Bob = muh name
Namg = Gman backwards
I made this name a long ass time ago.
Welp, I got mine when messing around on a vampire/werewolf rp site. I was going through a rough patch in my life and sorta got adopted by a "family" and it just sorta stuck. Hell I this last name almost every site now.
Daman453, Because i am Da-Man and the 453 is something in my family.
Carly is my name. Well, not given name, but the name I gave myself. I'm transgender, so my given name fell out of appeal to me quite quickly for being the wrong gendered name. Carly appealed because it was a short way of saying my username in another forum. Plus, its cute. Scarlet comes from "Remilia Scarlet", because she is one of my favorite Touhou characters. In fact, Remilia was the name I gave myself before Carly.
So I smashed the two together and got this. Feels like a full name, which makes me happy.
My first video games were shooters. Still play them every now and then. But im a huge fps fanatic. Halo, cod, fallout, skyrim, oblivion, and all sorts of others. I was crappy when i started a 5 yrs old. But by ten i was good. By 12 i was a mass murduring schycopath with a permanant grudge against life, and a lots of ammo to spare. I became a killer. So i became killer. I throw the 117 in when i cant do just killer, because i try to base the way i fight in games on the way thr master chief fights. Tactical. Smart. Fast. Hard. And never backing down.
well... way back when I was a young kid... so about the year 2000.... lol
My dad bought a computer for work, then bought a few games. My dad growing up hating and believing D&D was evil(and all company was around them too) decided to buy are first PC game might and magic 6.
This save was Blackwolf.
My older brothers was Hunter.
So I went with Seeker.
And for fun we made my younger brothers was Prey...
89 comes from the year I was born 1989....
and there you have it... the birth of my user name that I use almost everywhere....
Part two....
The second user name I use a lot is ziggydfsm. Ziggy was my first pet, which was an iguana. Not knowing everything about them(and we didn't have google), we failed to know to give him more food then just mill worms, and he passed away. On a plus side they can grow very large which we didn't know at the time. (Note this was in the year 2000). dfsm is my initials, I have two middle names.
DARREN FRED SAM MILLER?
Its from a book.
Exert from: ALEX RIDER SERIES POINT BLANK
Quote
The elevator remained where it was. It looked solid but, in fact, it wasn't there at all. What Roscoe had stepped into was a hologram, an image being projected into the empty space of the elevator shaft where the real elevator should have been. The Gentleman had programmed the door to open when Roscoe pressed the call button, and had quietly watched him step into oblivion. If the multimillionaire had managed to look up for a moment, he would have seen the silver hologram projector, beaming the image, a few yards above him. But a man getting into an elevator on his way to lunch does not look up. The Gentleman had known this. And he was never wrong.
I truly recommend you take out the book from your local public library... it was a great read.
Anyway... when making my username on steam I misspelled it and it became TheGentlmen... and it stuck... Oh well. What can we do? ;D
Wait, what's my username on here again? (looks up on screen)
Something about playing guitar for 22 years and falling in love with these guys as a teenager...

I was creating an account on my first ever MMORPG, Runescape. I was eating a candycane, so I tried to enter "candycane" as my username, but RS was all like "Nooooooooo! You can't have THAT name, so here's a list you can choose from. get it together, idiot. Who names himself after a food item?" "Saw Candyman" happened to be a name on the list, so I took it and have used it ever sense.
In the 90s I was all in to |337 haxxor culture like... mispelling words to be your handle. I was obsessed with greek mythology at the time and love the mythology behind the phoenix. So pheanox.
My username is the name of a character I made nine years ago or so on FFXI. It's distinctive enough that it hits very few other people on searches, and I liked how it sounds. Still do, actually.
The name, and the personality that evolved from it, have been one I've enjoyed a great deal. I'm happy with my choice to this day.
I'm fascinated with atomic and modern thermonuclear weapons-it's the obvious choice!
I go by many names, here on the ludeon forums I go by HayHorse to honer one of the first characters I had in Rimworld. The strange thing is, the colony was all females until I got a 15 Artist skill that was 60 something, but back to HayHorse. She was 17 (16 at colony start) and ended up with full bionic replacements, because why not?
a haint is what haunts a place

Nah, badass
is his name. He made up the word Louis :D
Yep, definitely ;D
Alitaria
Al-ee-tar-ee-ah
Accidental misspelling of the Pokemon Altaria when signing up for an online game, I didn't notice for a full year of wondering why this awesome Pokemon name wasn't taken.....
Now I use it as my go to online name because it is rarely taken and has a nice ring to it :3
I really don't know....
Not my name. I stole it from him:
It's just some kind of placeholder. I have a proper online nickname as well, but I don't want to use that here as I want to keep my fanfiction alterego separated from that one.
well my name is my first initial followed by a nickname i used to have. Pretty simple actually
It means defender of mankind. I'm a pretentious bastard.
My name comes from me being a really cynical person irl and the fact that i play heaps of WWI and WWII games.
Yep mine sucks.
Originally it was "TheCrazyItalian", which I made by taking a generic word and sticking it with my ethnicity.
However as of recent I changed it to ModernGib, as I found the other name childish(?) I guess.
I took Modern as I like the adjective and I have very 'Modern' ideals, and like Modern architecture. As for Gib, well it was Glib and that was generated from a random website, however I found it hard to say with that pesky L, so now i'm ModernGib, Gib pronounced without a J sound.
Well... for me when I was younger I absolutely loved RPG's and I can't quite remember the one I enjoyed the most because... you could choose a class (Mage, Paladin, Monk, Warrior) but then as you played through it depending on how you acted in situations it chose whether or not you became the good or bad subclass for it.
Example: (green is good, red is evil. Duh ;P )
Mage = Warlock
Holy Paladin = Unholy Paladin (or something like that ;-;)
Divine Monk = Martial Monk
Warrior = Blademaster
Please note I may be off slightly by the names...
ANYWAY.
I liked being a Holy paladin because I could use "Light" abilities on "Dark/Unholy" enemies and I got an attack bonus... and then when I needed to go "against the gods" (not actually, just attacking angel-like things) I would go around making bad decisions to get me down to Unholy (But you needed to pay to add the skills every-time which was a bit annoying sometimes)
And because I'm... abit of a person who likes to mess with people. I just stuck to the "DarkestLight" because... it makes little sense. "How does one get... a dark light?" uh. Shine a torch into the sun? then the torch light is darker??? (Oh thats not a bad explanation actually o.o)
Anyway before I cover the whole page with all my typing xD
Two words: Bullet Hell.
That's actually a good question...
gaiska comes from gaizka ... basque first name. heard it first from gaizka mendieta. popular soccer player in the 90s.
I'll go through mine one at a time, and just redirect anyone who wants to know here.
Facepunch:
I dont actually use this username anymore, but it came about way back when, from a game called Garry's Mod, if you've heard of it. I was playing GMod 9, forget the name of the gamemode, but basically what you had to do was pickup some files, and throw them at the Facepunch (developers of the game) symbol. Text would appear across the screen saying something along the lines of "Pickup the files and throw them at Facepunch!", so I changed my name to Facepunch. I don't use this one very often, anymore.
PiamondDickaxe:
Yeah, I don't remember what happened that night (I'm sure I had a blast, though), but I woke up the next morning, made myself a coffee, went to my computer, and saw that my username had been set to PiamondDickaxe. It stuck.
IDontLikeNames:
This is what happens when all the good usernames are taken. This one also stuck, but I only use it on 1 or 2 different games.
Hoganmaker:
This one's a bit of an inside joke between me, my friends, and my girlfriend. My friends are all dating, so we smashed their names together, wondering what their kid's names will be (Getting things like Jarlyn from Jarrett and Brooklyn, and Brayna from Bryce and Shayna), and I got Hogan, that is, Holly (My girl) and Logan (Me). So, yeah.
I guess I should stop before I take up the rest of the page
My original name was Bullet Sponge, it was from my highlander tf2 days, i played heavy very well. Bullet sponge is my name, damage soak is my game. is my motto
Used to play an old browser game called runescape in 2001. I wanted the name "Tyrant" but it was already taken so I decided I would KillTyrant for taking my name. Its been my handle ever since. Considering I love FPS's it actually became a much befitting name as I usually top the kill boards.
My dad used Rspendragon, I use Dspendragon, its from D&D, half-dragons, Dspendragon son of Rspendragon son of Penniy the dragon. yep true story .
I was thinking about Bill Murray in Ghostbusters at the time.
X-Box 360 suggested it to me out of nowhere a couple years ago. It's kind of a multi-pun, so that's why I took it initially. I've also yet to run into a single place where it's already taken (PSN, other forums, online games, etc.), and it's nice to not have a million usernames, so it will likely stick for a while.
Well, my Steam nickname is still from my TF2 times, where I was know as "Robalo Voador". In english, that would mean the fish Rockbass that fly
...
MEN, MY FUN NAME WOULD LOOK REALLY BADASS IN ENGLISH!
I'm changing my name now!
From now on, Listen1 will be Know as Flying Rockbass
"Call me Arty" came from "Artymis Martin", because the full thing sounded too dorky. On Steam, it's way more obnoxious: "Call me Arty, short for Artymis."
"Artymis" is a result of the Goddess Artemis, the greek god of The Hunt, and wisdom. As somebody who likes playing stealth builds and stalking other players/enemies and was commonly nicknamed "the human dictionary", it seemed fitting.
I wanted to put the most amount of creativity and effort into a lazy username. None of this xXl33tp1ay3r69Xx nonsense. It's simple, elegant, creative, and most importantly, lazy.
My handle is actually a pen name I was going to use when I wanted to make a webcomic. That was 10 years ago when I was just a dumb teenager. I just stuck to it cause no one had that name on a couple of sites I went to.
(5th Grade) I was playing minecraft factions on a pirated minecraft, and I saw a faction called fuzzyfire. I wanted that as my minecraft name but it was taken. I took the next best thing: PyroFuzz

I support this. The name, not the pirating.
My first username, Hunter Mythcloud, was just my Wizard 101 name and I used it for years.
Including as my email address. That sure sucks the professionalism out of things.
I just smashed my head into the keyboard and voila, my new username for me to use for pretty much everything.
My name is '' Bastien ''. So I took the username Basto on a cheap star wars ( now closed ) RPG. But because I was dumb ( I was really young ) I kept forgetting the password so I needed to change the username constantly by making a new acc. But one day, I got credits ( in-game currency that cost IRL money ), and it was on the account Bastobasto, the 12th generation of the '' Basto '' accs. It sounded like a good username. So I played roblox for the first time in around 2010, and I kept the same username ( or something extremely similar ). Then I played minecraft and took the exact same username. It has became a automatic username since. I even get called '' Basto '' by my real life friends sometimes.
R-U-D-D are the first four letters in my last name, and my dad's ruddone, my mom's ruddtwo, and since I'm the oldest kid I got ruddthree.

Good to meet you Ruddthree. To be honest, if I saw your pawn walk into my school, I'd be nervous.
It's just a fashion choice (maybe a poor one at that); I really dig trench coats.
My user name is a bit crazzy since it's meaning changed throughout my life, so I guess I will start with the first part of my username I choose Tober because I was a freak about keeping my identity a secret but I wanted people to know a very small part of me so I choose Tober instead of Toby my real name (also I didn't like my name at the time for some profound reason) I chose fire since my first username was fire lord as I was a kid in middle school who didn't know that this username was also used by a kid who constantly rages in a game (or so my friend told me) hence me changing my username but fire holds a different meaning then just a old username fire represented both life and death. A tool that allowed the human race to evolve also destroys the vast amount of life there is, but it allows for other life to grow were they never would have grown if the other life hadn't died like us humans without the Dinosaurs becoming extinct we would have never evolved and become the dominant species of this planet. Fire also represents a bit of my personality since I change constantly everyday with each action I take to every word I say. fire has become my symbol in a way to show that I constantly change and that what you see now will not be what I will be in a year. Now the number 6 well I couldn't just leave toberfire without connecting it someway so I thought about the word sick I don't know why now but I know it ment "cool" back then so I choose it but I couldn't connect the two words with sick or it would look like tobersickfire it just didn't sound right so I choose 6 since it sounds like sick and it sounded perfect when I connected the two words to form the username I use Tober6fire but unfortunately I used the name for my email which doesn't sound professional anymore so I hope to delete the email and any other links to my name with this username (even though I will still use it for almost anything that requires a username). This name is stuck with me since it became part of my life even though I plan on creating a new username with something with pyro (Greek name for fire) since I am becoming more literate in the English language rather then my native language polish (even though I lived in US for a long time my parents often spoke polish and I didn't learn English until I started going to school). Well that's my story on my username
A long time ago I had a conversation with a guy living in Amercia.
When we talked about my country of origin Germany, he said that all Germans have such names as Bolgfred.
At first I was confused, but now I agree and tell everybody that Bolgfred is a common german name, next to Günther, Hans and Getrud.

I think there's a good amount of variety in German surnames. Not like Koreans (Kim, Park, Choi, Lee, Song) or Punjabis (Singh).
Bolgfred is a good username, because when I googled it, all I got was posts made by Bolgfred in other forums. There is only one thing called Bolgfred and it is you. Good job!
Name I use here was the first one I ever made, basing on my first name. In slight way.
Sticking around with that one since ... 1997. Used mostly in online gaming back then, as in Kingpin: Life of Crime, Unreal Tournament (99), Quake 3 Arena, RB6 - Rogue Spear, ... and so on, GOOD old times! You younger lads really missed the best times of online gaming!
Later on I changed it to something different, depending on game. But I mostly stick to that one in forums nowadays.
I decided to make one of my favorite names my username here, not much else to it
Story? Muffalo are hilarious :P
And so is the context menu.
I have a lot of trouble with usernames; I hate picking them out.
My second name IRL is Merlin, and since I was a bit of a Second World War aircraft fanatic in my childhood, MerlinEngine, after the name of the engine used by the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane seemed a fitting combination. I have only used this username in gaming so far, on other sites, I prefer to usually go for the most original sounding name I can come up with. It's fun to have something unique when everyone else has to live with "SomethingGeneric9000".
We were supposed to register under a fake name? BRB . . . .
catter... Saw it once on a license plate. It was funny to think of a cat who made hats (thus cat hatter or 'catter') so was born my name. What I don't get is why the license plate had catter on it... Odd people do odd things. Good thing I'm a cat who doesn't care.
mine is incomplete . i usually write it as 'E.Redmark' which stand for Erika redmark . And she was the most powerful mage in the 2 first Avernum games :) .
link: https://encyclopedia.ermarian.net/wiki/Erika_Redmark
My username here is actually just my real name (dburgdorf = Darryl Burgdorf).
As to the name under which I release my mods....
Well, way back in... good lord... 2004, I was playing City of Heroes, and had a character in a pride-striped costume I named "Rayne Beau." Later that year, EverQuest 2 came out, and I created a druid named "Rainbeau," who became my main character for years. When it came time to assign him a surname, since his crafting profession was a cook, and since he had a "flavor" spell that surrounded him in flames, he became "Rainbeau Flambe."
I've just kind of stuck with the name ever since.
Interestingly, I discovered somewhere along the way that "flaming rainbows" (or "fire rainbows") are actually a legitimate, albeit rare, meteorological phenomenon.
Title of a book about photos of our solar system. It was my favorite non-fiction book at the time and i needed a name for the Kerbal Space Program forums :)
When I created my Google account around 5 years ago, I chose Cucumber Something as my username as a cucumber was sitting on my kitchen table.
My favorite number is 64, and over time every account I made is a combination and variation of the 2. CucumberedPickle64, PickledCucumber64, CucumberedPickle128 and others are all usernames that I have.
I don't live in an english speaking country. When I was like 12 I played roblox and I thought that "Pablo" is from english language and it means "Paul".
Few years later when I was called out a [censored] mexican (also on roblox) I knew what it really meant.
To this day I'm sticking to it. It's easy to remember for me and is never taken.
Hi, there! This is my first post on this site. My user name is based on really simple logic. I've added "t" to my last name. I was named "Rainer" after Rainer Maria Rilke, the great German poet. But I feel quite uncomfortable using that name online, so I just added the "t" to make my user name.
I've never been in a forum apart from this one so...
