PS: I thought about making an easier integration but since you have to play around with the .dll anyways to throw the Mote its easier this way.
Added a Splatter Mote with blood and guts and all that fine stuff :) - Life on stream in over 6 hours thanks to everyone who was there :) (http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091010053043/zelda/images/e/ed/Container_Heart.gif)
Call it from MoteThrower.Splatter(IntVec3 position).
Example Mote can now be called from MoteThrower.Example(IntVec3 position). Dont forget "using MotesTest;"
Also a mood diamond was added.
New PAWN CLASS: The motes are now useable out of the box!
Now available for Alpha 8!!

Someone also needs to try and hook into when a pawn is outright destroyed and throw some blood, bones and guts about.
You mean some kind of overkill mote splattering the pawn all over the place?
Exactly right now if an explosion happens and the pawns health is low enough he just vanishes with a smattering of blood on the floor (that gets destroyed by the explosion most of the time), id like to see a graphic representation of this happening. Cuz im weird like that.

yeah I've always been a bit put off by the fact that direct hits from the mortar just makes raiders disappear with no satisfying splatter noise or graphics or anything to let you know it happened unless you were looking directly at that particular spot.
ok guys heres the plan.. shower, eat and other stupid real life stuff and then (maybe in 2 hours or so) stream about about spreading people all over the landscape.

two motes. one for good emotions and one for bad. when a pawns mood starts dropping a mote pops out of them that shows a frowny face or something. Then when it starts going up you see a mote with a smiley face or something. I'd say the mote should go off before you get the warning that a mental break is coming. Like maybe as soon as the mood begins to drop at a rate which causes several arrows to the left in the character info display screen. The positive mood mote should likewise only display when it is increasing at whatever rate is needed for multiple arrows to the right in that screen.
[edit to add] interesting effects that could be tested on this could be that over the course of the life of the mote it grows in size and becomes more and more transparent. It would also be interesting to see if you can make the mote follow the pawn that threw it until it finishes it's growth/fading process, which should last about 5 seconds.
What about a diamond shape over the colonists head which changes its color depending on the mood? Totally not stolen..

Surely that should have been "Reticulating spines". Much better than splines; thematic, too.
ADDED MOOD DIAMOND!! Totally not stolen from The Sims you know.. Made life on stream in about 3.5 hours.

Is there some issue with using transparency in motes? ive been trying for a while now to get a nice transparent smoke wisp but it only works if i test with a solid block of colour???

Transparency should be handled just fine as a lot of the original mote textures are a little bit transparent as well. Are you using the correct shader type and drawing options?

Like "Same day same shit" ore something.
Combined with a mod, where the colonist sometimes stop when they see another one, and start talking.. over an minute ore somthing like that. Hmm... arghh... i have to learn coding!

I thought about filled speech bubbles but as you might know Im a terrible terrible texture artist. Socializing per se is aleady in the game so it shouldnt be too hard to implement if I had a few textures/icons which depict moods and thoughts. *notch notch*
At the moment I put mod development on pause because I have to wait for the official Alpha 8 release to stream again.
Hrm... i would say, real textes inside the buddles is tooo small.
But i have one idea... hmm.. post it later here, maybe someone can use it.^^

It is possible but it would require some work. I would recommend to use the whole mod and delete the Thrower Buildings - you can also keep them in but they dont dont serve any gameplay purpose. MAYBE I will split them up in a later release but I have to think of a proper way to do this.
Eh if it's a lot of work don't bother :D this is good too.
