Title: [MOD] (Alpha 8) RIMTROOPERS an star wars overall 0.45

Greetings!
This is the beginning of an star wars overall, at the dark times of the galactic zivilwar.
The Rimtroopers landed on the Rimworld.. searching for troops from the residence.. will you help them? Or the Rebels?
Or do you want to go you own way..
You have to decide what you colony will do, in that galaxy far far away.....

inside.
1: The rimtroopers with his own weapons, armors and sounds. At the moment just normal stormtroopers and scouts.
2: The Rebels.

To do list.
1: Funiture and Turrets.
2: Hutta stuff! Like bountyhunters, criminal scum, a random rancor landed on your cafeteria... and so on. 40%
3: Animals.
4: Jedis. 67%

Warning! Like every faction mod, you have to start a new world.

�hm nope.
The weapons are 1 to 1 from projekt armory.
But tomorow i will doing a bit of resarching, and find out how i can add that sounds.
And find a way that the helmets gives an malus from 60% to accuracy..

Small bugfix update. Im to dump sometimes ;)

I am so happy this is a thing now! I've been waiting for Star Wars related mods for a while now! Thank you so much dude!

[edit to add] I wanna see some astromechs next! They could even be part of a droid faction similar to the Mechanoids but all look like astromechs and protocol droids.

Also gotta have as a wild animal that roams the desert biomes, Jawas. And for the temperate forest we would have Ewoks of course. And TaunTauns for the cold biomes. And Rancors for the jungle biome.

Something you should add (just cause every starwars fan wants one) is lightsabers, soon hopefully.  Make them do MASSIVE damage but also you have to craft them and it takes a crafting of like 18.  Components would be 1xCrystal, and a handfull of metal (cause lets be honest, they arent big or heavy) and worktime would be like 2 min of solid work to assemble it (at least)

Just wait till Tynan adds in water as a resource. Then we'll have moisture farms for your colonists and you can name one Uncle Ben and one Aunt Beru and then watch as the stormtroopers incinerate them. It'll be great wholesome family oriented fun!

Nope firstly not.
Im sry, but i want to keep the mod a bit more "realistic".
There will be lightsaber.. no star wars without! BUT just when i find so way to create something like the way of the jedi.
What will cost an massive amount of time.. and not every colonist can be one.

-can you craft droids that (creates a new pawn) that can haul and clean (just like another mod does), but use astromech droid graphics?

-craft lightsabres?

-wookies for jungle/forest biomes, sand raiders for arid and deserts.  ;D

Warning!
I will update that mod later that day. A part of that update will be a new faction!
So you will have to start an new world. Next faction update after that will brings in more than on faction, so you dont have to restart always :D

@Keylocke
1: Im not realy a coder.. so not from me. But when mechanical defence is update, i will maybe ask for making an update, so that every single robot will become one from star wars^^
2: How i say, lightsabres will be only in that mod, when i find an nice way, that you can train an jedi. And the jedi can build himself 1 lightsabre, when i arrive an specific level.

Not only that but give blaster rifles an accuracy of 50% cause lets face it, even the good guys cant hit squat.

Interesting, I was playing the icesheet biodome mod and among the factions I didn't see the troopers. Is this random in every start?

But at the moment they use the same settlement namens like the outsiders. Will be changed with the next update.

Odd. I tried 3 times, and last one in a new world. Always 5 factions, and one of them is the jaffas, that I have installed too. Are these replacing the troopers?

At the 40k mod, ar 2 new factions to.
Will test it again later.. but i see no point why it should not work.
Maybe on of the mor experience modders know the answer^^

Ok test it for an second. There ARE 6 Factions. Outlander, tribes, rimtroopers, Jawas, Jaffas and the good old pirates.
And on the Com-console are 6 factions too.
I think you have an older version of the rimtrooper mod. Where the faction def has his core name.
Forget to change that...  ::)
So download the mod again, and replace the old one. Than it should work.
With the next update, there become own city and Pawn names. So you will identifine them bether.

The Rimtroopers arent showing up for me, i can only get the armor by using Prepare Carefully mod and they arent in the faction menu :( Is this compatible with Jaffa? can you make a list of mods its known to have problems with? i need immediate help, i set up a colony in an ice sheet and called it "imperial outpost" it has everything i need, except for backup from the Empire itself.. :( please help.

Update!

Changelog
1: Added the rebels with 2 troop types.
2: Some new weapons.
3: deleting that shity shoulderpats.. :D

I have decided to take the jawas out.. firstly. Will rework them.. But at the moment i dont get the time for that.
Will focus for the Huttas, bountyhunters and the funiture.

Short question at the com.
At the moment im working on some funiture that fits more.. like 2 Turrets.. desks etc..
Aehm.. to the question. What do you guys thing about some static spaceships like the T-fighter and the x-wing?
Same maybe for the tanks like that 2 legs walker. ATST i think. :)

@Evul Thanks :) But im not realy happy with the marine helmet from the rebels, have already an reworkt version, that comes with the next update.

I say go for the static vehicle and ship cause that lit up the thing. My self is currently working on some. Not star wars, but decorative stuff.
Walker could if possible could have guns in front but only if it look sexy.

Love what i have seen off this mod so far, but i have a few problems. Firstly, i have generated more than 15 new worlds this morning and i just can not seem to get one where the troopers and the rebels are actually fighting each other. Is there any way to fix this, or at least increase the likelihood of them being at war? perhaps change the troopers (or rebels) into a "pirate" faction?
Also, the trooper sound is funny, but it gets annoying really fast. Is there anything i can change in the files to stop it from playing, and if so, how do i do it?

Edit: Nm, figured out the hostility part. In case any other modding impaired people like myself are having the same problem, simply go to Rimtroopers/Defs/Faction Defs/RimtroopersFactionDefs.xml and change the values under startingGoodwill to -100 and -80  respectively, this will essentially turn them hostile to everyone (i thought this only applied to the player faction, silly me).

Goddamn,3 rimtroopers with shooting n' mellee at 20
Make them a hideout,small cave and a few sandbags threw in outside
Spawn in 10 other thuggie pirates.

Watch them rape their arses with the sexy blasters they hold
Also,make sure to be in a boreal forest and turn on the rain,add more pirates
place in some outlaws(or outheroes...or whatever they are called)
Place in more sandbags,a few walls made out of slate,and watch how rimtroopers ally with the rebels and rekt thieve asses.

In the end,put the troopers to kill the rest of the rebels.
"Happy END!!!"

Update

Changelog:
1: complet new rimtrooperarmor.
2: First Meeleweapon. The Vibrosword. Can be craftet of the smithing desk.
Annd an small hint. Start to train one of you guys to level 20 at meele.. Will need it for the next update. :D
Because its an small update, you dont have to start an new World. So have fun!

I just tried this mod for the first time and I really liked it.
The fact that rimtrooper and rebels are neutral for us is an incredibly good idea, you can choose to be in alliance with one or the other but their is one thing who surprised me, why they are not in war between each other ? o-O It's the only thing in my opinion to actually adjust before making an other update ^^

By the way on the topic of jedi how would they work would they need something to be installed or would it be a trait? Would empire have dark acolytes or no force users at all , and for that matter would the rebels have any?  Oh and a big question I noticed people with people don't move to engage on there own they have to be manually selected would your jedi mod change or alter that?

Oh and please ignore those who call force users op because they are always going to be op it's a lightsaber and they have force powers.

No there will be no other jedis, beside that ones you train by you own.
Thats because the jedi system based on the meeleskill. You need one with 20 to craft the sword on an spezial table.
When i give some faction lightsabers.. jeah the hole thing dont work anymore. ;)

I think the colonists definitely need a trait of some description, to do with the force. not everyone can become a jedi because they can make level 20 melee and make a laser sword. You could have midiclorian counts and feels the dark/light side traits :D would make a nice expansion.

Bad to be honest..
I dont have mutch time at the moment. And when i got some, im mostly working on stoneage stuff for Kojaks Eon's mod.

But when im finish with that stuff, i will see what i can do.
But here an small preview.. next update will have an rework of the rebel faction. Never like them at the moment. And finaly jedi stuff.

I would say no to ewoks. But putting them in to the mod would let me shoot them down. So in the end the ability to shoot ewoks I say yes.  :o

I am running your mod as well as a lot of others. With the 40K imperial guard mod. The Jaffa mod and rimtropper I have added 5 more factions to my game. So with the in game factions and the 5 new one this give me 8 factions to deal with and add the mech's that make it 9 factions to deal with in some way. And that is a lot of fun to.

Now What I saw last night playing was the rimtroopers would come in winter the have the Rimtrooper helm and just a parka. How about adding the snow trooper from The Empire Strikes Back for winter time? Not sure if it can be set up this way but it would be nice to see.
