Note: this mod will not be updated, you can fine all content in my new mod Industrialisation (https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=8902.0)
Adds concrete as a construction material, more HP but harder to build. Beauty 0
you can produce concrete from concrete mixer, cost 1 stone chunk and 1 steel, produce standard 8 concrete.
reseach "concrete production" to unlock concrete mixer
hotfix: you can now use the mod for your saved games ;D

Very nice idea!
But I think "Stonecutting research complete -> concrete research open" is perfect ..
Why we use stone block, cause it is strong and resonable price than steel.
Immediate researching concrete makes stone block useless

No researching immediate concrete makes stone block useless
oh i forgot to mention, there is a research called: concrete production(no need to reseach stonecutting though :P)

Immediate researching concrete makes stone block useless
1. you don't need steel to produce stoneblocks
2. from 1 stone chunk you got more stoneblocks than concrete
3. concrete takes more time to produce
Nice idea. How does it compare in beauty though? One would expect it to be at least a 0 on beauty if not a -1 or something.

it's 0 ;D
need new game ?
nope, it doesn't replace anything, just adds stuff. Should be fine to use on current saves unless he did something that's not mentioned in the original post.
I like what you have done here! I think though that Concrete shouldn't really use Steel but if you added "Reinforced Concrete" then Steel would definitely be a part of that! :D

for now it seems need to start a new game, i will look into it
Not to bust a nut over this but...concrete itself does not contain metal.
Lots of different types but one common mixture is limestone + aggregates of other stone + water. What you can do is just make the concrete mixed as limestone+sandstone for example as one type of concrete wall + add research for it if you haven't for concrete wall but then add also Reinforced concrete wall research... (wall stronger but requires "rebar" so therefore metal increased cost etc) .....k

acctually i was trying to make it as Reinforced concrete, however because stuff system i can't make it cost extra steel while building the wall(unless i made a new wall type which i think is not necessary for a basic mod like this), so i made it cost steel while producing the concrete.
but thanks for point it out, if i decide to make the mod more detailed i will consider the idea.
fixed the black screen problem while loading saved games ;D
Minor nitpick but it would be better if it used a smooth texture instead of the regular wall, since I've never seen a wall made of concrete bricks.

That actually looks quite pretty

i used the wood wall texture for this, because a lot of concrete wall use wood planks as formwork thus giving the concrete wall a similar texture.
another form of formwork (used to support the concrete while it sets) is plywood or metal sheets, or even(for really cheap jobs) mdf sheets as the mdfs are basically single use while the timber plywood and metal are multi-use

Let me specify: I have never seen a wall made of reinforced concrete bricks (since that is what the mod uses).
Weary nice!
nice idea.
Nice, will be using this from now on. :3
I really like this mod :)
I did a minor addition to this mod though because I found it ironic to have concrete in the game now and have two types of concrete floor made out of steel :P Paved Tiles and Concrete floors are now made with concrete. The concrete floors also got a minor speed boost because I found their vanilla description of "fast to walk on" misleading when they're the same speed as the other floors (they get an 8% boost over vanilla)
If you want to use it feel free, if not... well darn...
PS: this seems to be old save compatible but when loaded all of my existing paved tiles and concrete were gone (it didn't crash though :) ) If anybody has a fix for that let me know as this is the first thing I've done that resembles modding.

Go for it. I kinda figured it would get added in eventually, I just lack patients :P
