Can anyone tell me why my trade beacon is giving this odd coverage?

I made her with EdB's Prepare Carefully. She landed alone with her survival rifle, 100 prepackaged survival meals and 100 components.
Before long, she had a nice garden of rice and berries, and a modest room with a wooden bed. She had begun excavating in enclosure for food storage when Dral wandered by and decided to join her.
Together, they had nearly completed the excavation when they received a plea for help from Gert.
She had escaped from a nearby pirate band and begged for asylum. We gave it.
The pirates sent Grub to retrieve her...
Grub was easily subdued and eventually convinced to join.
Not long after Grub's recruitment, an escape pod landed nearby.
Mankin was rescued from the wreckage and convinced to join.
Together, this group has carved out a comfortable, sustainable existence...

A dromedary ate half my devilstrand!
I like playing on desert maps. Normally, when dromedaries appear, they die of starvation in short order. I just have to scan the edges of the map and look for corpses. I don't even have to hunt them. They show up, and they die. I collect 'em, butcher, and eat 'em. I have no trouble keeping ten colonists in fine meals.
Well, one made it all the way to my devilstrand farm and ate half of it before I noticed him. I'm sure he cost me thousands of silver.
