Mods / Re: Feasibility to build a multiplayer mod?
January 06, 2017, 11:34:44 AM
What would be the point? What would be the goals of multiplayer?
Everybody asks this, but multiplayer in this game would be pointless.

Mods / Base Map Generation

Are there any mods that add their own kind of base generation yet? Right now the vanilla ones don't even have treasure worth looting, besides the people itself.

General Discussion / Re: One crop to rule them all

You only have to click and drag just one tile of the field to select it.

You can change the storyteller and difficulty anytime at the option, middle row near the bottom.

That is not what the question was. It's about how at the beginning of the game you have small raids, and later on you have larger raids, and more annoying events. If you resettle elsewhere (probably with very little), will the story stay on the same level of difficulty as it was, or start over?
Not the literal difficulty mind you... I mean the amount of challenge the storyteller builds up.

Thanks DeathWeasel, the colony wealth thing makes sense.

If I decide that my colony is about to be obliterated or fall apart by increasing hordes of enemies, can I expect the difficulty to restart by resettlement? Basically putting the Storyteller at beginning difficulty again.

Or has anybody who tried just met a bigger mob of raiders again?

It's actually been in the top seller list since it was released 6 months ago.

Why would you want to leave anyway?
More fun staying on the rimworld with your cybernetic enhanced girlfriend.

This sounds like every other first person survival game for your idea. The market is saturated with this kind of thing.
Secondly. Multiplayer rimworld? Yuck.

I imagine you're preaching to a very tiny demographic.

My 16 medicine has killed one and wounded three, out of five tries, trying to install simple arms/legs. Is it supposed to be that difficult?

You may notice after surgeries a "surgical incision" injury in the health tab. It adds like 3 or 5 damage. Your colonist has to rest before you do a lot of operations. A prisoner died after I did too many operations on his torso, too fast.

Now it's time to wait for my steam key or the sendowl download...
#42
When will we get the sendowl version? Same time?
#43
What is giving you guys the inclination that people who have bought it won't be able to get a steam key?

I suppose the main thing is to avoid sending all of your colonists into a fight. Have straight up non-military colonists who do all the rescuing work and fixing things.
I've put military animals, like cougars and bears on colonists to protect them while drafted. They absorb some bullets as well.
You're using walls as cover right? Walls work very well in protecting people.

To maximize your turrets, try to force enemies to run into their line of fire. Rather than have them stay outside the zone of fire and destroy the turret. (As soon as an enemy rounds a corner they should meet turret fire. Keep in mind to put traps on corners of walls to prevent enemies from using it as safe cover.

Im going to have to rethink my rooms then.  I always had the head of the bed against a wall, but now I think I will need to do whats been said and put them in the middle of the room.  For the double beds that means 4 for the bed, 20 surrounding it.  so a 4x4 room if its totally empty except for the bed.  Maybe longer rooms then to accommodate a lamp, potted plant, chair, and artwork.  Im thinking a 4x6 room should be suitable if you dont want to put a table in with them. but that doesnt give many empty squares with all the stuff in it, i will test to see if that matters for the mood.

Furniture that can be walked over doesn't really hurt the amount of free space. Only partially. Like a chair won't count as a fully blocked tile like a wall would.
