So, in the end I decided to just delete and respawn the pawns with character editor. It was still a bit of a pain thanks to psychology and the relationships getting reset, but in the end I got everything back to normal (minus the lag). Thanks for the help, I suppose. Even if the original problem wasn't really solved, you did give me some other advice as well as your time. Thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to try and help people like me.

Ah... so why exactly is that message important? I don't really know anything about coding.

Quotemosttimes when unexpected lag happen it is some repeating error message

Is it possible that the issue is some sort of unintended behavior rather than, strictly speaking, an error?

Quotethese should have something special other pawn's don't have.

There's only 2 things that I can think of that separate these pawns from the others:
1. I spent a long time adjusting them with prepare carefully.
2. They were still in the drop-pod animation when I edited the map with map reroll and map editor.

Quoteyou can check your save file and find what makes that specific pawn(s) "special" (and laggish) and fix savefile directly.

proper way to solve issue is to setup profiling with dnspy (or array of injections) to determinate method that consume more time then expected and cause slowdown.

I don't have a clue on how to do any of that.

Quotereasons to install runtimegc, mod that cause endless issues and provide no benefits for current version

Actually I'm using the unofficial 1.2 fork of runtimegc. Here's a link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2228430510&searchtext=runtimegc. As Canute suggested I installed it because it was useful in the past, but if it's no longer useful or buggy in the current version of rimworld then I'll remove it. So far I haven't noticed any problems, is this mod known for causing issues or something?

Question, how do I post the debug logs from game startup and opening dev mode in-save to the forums here? The in-save dev log has a "loading safegame" line in it (but Hugslibs ctrl-f12 doesn't?). Would they even be helpful?

QuoteI didn't even saw a loading safegame message, and no message about an error when you select a pawn.

What's a "loading safegame" message? Also, I'm not entirely sure if something like this would be counted as an error per se.

QuoteI suggest that you delete the whole Rimworld installation to remove all old files, and let steam repair/reinstall it.

...That, is probably something that I should do. Thanks for the tip. Lol, that moment when you're redownloading all your mods and you realize that it's over twice the size of the base game download.

QuoteThis is a database for RimPy Mod Manager. You do not need to (and should not) put this mod in your active mod list.

I must have missed writing this down on my setup task list. Thanks for pointing this out.

QuoteAnd even when we got error messages about the lag, it is mosttimes impossible to identify the mod conflcit.

Yeah, that's why I said I was asking to see if anybody happened to recognize this particular issue from experience. Thanks for the help anyway. If nothing else, I think I can work around the issue by just deleting those particular pawns and then copy-pasting new ones with character editor or something.

There are no "recently added" mods. If it helps, I happened to notice that this bug only affects my starting pawns. Newly recruited pawns don't have this issue.

Edit: to elaborate, this is the first time I've played Rimworld in quite a while, so I figured I might as well shake things up and get back into the game with a lot of new mods/variety. At least half my current list is made up of "new" mods. I already tried carefully selecting each one while keeping things like compatibility in mind. I suppose what I'm asking for here is if anybody happened to encounter this bug before and knows what's causing it. To put it bluntly this isn't a huge enough problem to warrant me taking the time to test each and every single mod. I'm just asking for advice if someone happens to know the solution.

Here's the modlist: https://gist.github.com/HugsLibRecordKeeper/654a66016253f6b7ba99776322ceb0b4

No real clue what could be causing this. It's not like it makes the game completely unplayable, but it's a real chore to deal with regardless. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have no clue how I missed that sticky before. Thanks for the help.

Here's what happened: A pawn got back from caravanning, I went to open their inventory as they were heading back to base, and all of a sudden the game rapidly slowed down, froze up, and finally started stuttering until it crashed. I recall this was a problem I had about a year or so before, but much less severely, however I can no longer ignore this if it causes crashes instead of moderate fps drops. Any idea what the cause is?

First of all, I've never done problem solving like this before, so please bear with me if I'm making any rookie mistakes. Any suggestions or even wild theories about what might be causing an issue would be greatly appreciated. Note that I'm not an inexperienced Modder (never really had a problem I didn't have a clue how to solve before though), and that I have a list of about 280+ mods. If you need an error log, please provide instructions how and I will post it. Mod list is also doable. If there is a better method than this for bug shooting, a link/access instructions to a forum/instruction manual/directory about a better way to deal with this problem would also be appreciated.
