This is still a myth, or at least should be. If this actually effects medical chance, pretty sure it is a bug.
Workspeed is 100% down to 50% light, and drops to 80% at 0% light.
Light also effects mood from Darkness debuff.
However, none of the four medical stats are effected by light level. A lamp is all you need.

Ideas / Fire worship Meme Idea.

I wanted to model the Origin religion from Stargate, but there isn't currently a way to execute people by burning them to death. Extending that to fire worship, Pyromanic association, Pyres, and Chemfuel gave this general suggestion

-Directly opposed to Darkness meme.
-Pyre Funeral. Consumes wood/chemfuel, chemfuel gives higher quality ritual. Prepare body with accelerant, light, observe it burn to ash.
-Fire Sacrifice/execution. Same as funeral, but with Prisoner/Animal in place of body.
-Bonfire Celebration. Uses a bonfire as focus. Throws Wood, food, small amounts of chemfuel as a ?Sacrifice? because pretty burning and small explosions.
-Bonfire. Memetic structure. 2x2 campfire. 5x wood capacity/consumtion rate. Higher light level, enough for growing plants. Cooks as fast as a wood burning stove, and has no restrictions on making meals. Ignores 90% of cleanliness for food contamination. Sets adjacent flamable terrain, plants, furnature on fire, but not people.
-Heat Tolerance. the four moodlets that effect heat are dropped one level, so sweaty is ignored, Hot is only -4, etc.
-Electric light dislike. Torch, Campfire, Bonfire like.
-Lanterns. Like steel torches, but uses chemfuel, lasts significantly longer, ignores rain.
-Chempit. Primitive Biofuel refinery. Pit which biomass is placed in to rot, eventually yielding chemfuel because reasons. 5 nutrition to 35 chemfuel over 3 days, or something like that. uses steel in construction.

-Fire Need. Like canibals have Human meat need, Fire worshipers have a fire need, though as a normal need instead of a timer. Torches/lanterns provide first threshold, Campfires second one, bonfires third, large, actual fires the fourth, and fire rituals and setting enemies on fire and watching them burn to death provides the maximum. Pyromanics have this need regardless.
-Pyromanics have a second, lesser break state, where they go and light and refuel campfires, torches, etc, even if disabled. Normal break state requires higher break risk, and involves setting things on fire you don't want on fire.
