Based on the error log, it seems that the mod Save Our Ship 2 has caused the issue. Take it with a grain of salt though, as lots of other mods are causing exceptions and issues.

For mod testing, you can launch Rimworld with the argument -quicktest which will bypass the main menu entirely, putting you directly into a small randomized test map.

For anyone using this for version 1.1, you need to change the .NET Framework version to 4.0.
