I'm very much enjoying experiencing all the new additions in this new version of the game but I'd have to go with too slow a good chunk of the time.  I've yet to play the new colony for long so that might change late term.  As of now it is noticeably slower than the last versions of the game though.

Hello everyone, in my last play through I was attempting to go for a pirate/slaver feel.  I am curious if there is a way to hard code it so that after a pawn has been damaged down to 20 health they always become incapacitated.  If anyone knows what files I would edit, or how to go about that at all, please let me know.

Colonists should get desensitized to violence & death over time, and there should be more things that increase mood, including more lasting effects.

I'd like this as well.  The first battle a given colonist takes part is should be the most brutal for them, emotionally.  After that it should steadily level off.  Maybe even make them lose the ability to for social/caring if they take part in too many fights too close together?

Same situation in my random game.  Aside from the small groups of pistoleer raiders I have only seen two spawns of mechanoids,  only 1 mech per spawn.

Anyone who likes Rimworld should definetly check those two games out!!

Got a link to Kenshi? I can only find something about Kenshi skin care, and an old 2012 japanese game

lofigames for kenshi.  Their steam page is pretty active as well.

Anything by Terry Pratchett is more than worth a read.   I have also been enjoying the Dresden Files Series by Jim Butcher and the Ex-Heroes Series by Peter Clines.

At the very least I'd like to see a 2x1 door, because I get real OCD with games like this and I hate building single-wide or triple-wide tunnels just to keep things balanced.

I feel your pain and agree completely.

Randy Random for me for the most part.  I enjoy the unscripted chaos and the lack of a population cap.  Though I will probably need to downshift to chill callie to figure things out again.

External factions are a fun idea, but I would like to see internal factions as well.  They don't really even have to do that much, but I would love to see a mental break situation on the large scale.  Too many people of a certain faction get too unhappy, and you have a mutiny (or at least a fire fight) inside your base.

Water as a resource is a good idea.  Lots of awful random events I could see happening there.  An interesting way to do away with the hard population limit, but still making it tricky to have mega colonies, would be really expanding on the character traits.  Have the game be fine with having a large population,  but perhaps the miner you picked up a while back has a violent episode because of his hatred of crowds and goes on a killing spree/has to be put down.  Things along those lines.
Once doctoring and medication is truly in game having plague events for large populations would be a good way to thin out numbers if you are not taking good care of your people/are unlucky and have no access to medicine.

Ideas / Re: Morgue Ship
January 13, 2014, 03:45:00 PM
At this point I just set up a couple of dump sites with dead bodies enables out of the way.  As those get full I send a colonist with a Incendiary launcher over to give them a nice viking funeral for my vanquished foes.  Get a couple hits off and the fire spread nicely and destroys most of the bodies.  That being said, the idea of a crashing morgue ship, or hell debris from space battles above the colony,  makes me very happy.  The space battle one in particular would be a fun positive/negative type event.  The positive being material and perhaps escape pods to salvage.  The negative being large chunks of ship and possibly a missile or two raining down on your world.

What about being able to assign more than one bed to a colonist?

More than likely a colony will have it so that 1 colonist = 1 bed, but sometimes you don't pick up more colonists but build several bases. You could assign a bed in each base to each colonist and he'll simply go to the closest one.

That would be especially useful when the maps get bigger.  Having a multiple safe room type bunkers for traveling would be a neat idea.
