Either that or possibly a 'range' option for loaders, so my guys don't grab stuff at the end of the line and bring it all the way back to the loader.

If you look at his tutorials (check the first post), he explains how to avoid this: essentially just make sure that the Loader has the same Priority level as the final stockpile zone.  Then your colonists will put it on the loader end if it is closer than the stockpile, and will just carry it to the stockpile if it is closer than the loader (just make sure that the unloader is closer to the stockpile, else you might have an issue...)

i'm having an issue with the bends in the conveyors. nothing wants to move past a bend. am i doing something majorly wrong by rotating them so they look like the curve is going the right way or something ?

I am having a similar issue and I can't figure it out.  I have one conveyer that is supposed to run into my freezer, but it just won't carry things into it...  Other conveyers that I build seem to work fine (I had issues earlier, but now they work), but this one will not.  All it is is a loader, one straight (through a wall), and an unloader, but items just sit on the loader and don't move...

I have not had to deal with them, but I believe it would be the same as for any corpse: either dig a grave and bury them like any body or build a crematorium and burn them (also just like any other body).

A great story full of both joy and sadness.  I love how you are treating it like a real survival story, keeping alive those that are wounded beyond working and executing those that killed other colonists.  The body chamber is a brilliant alternative to hauling and cremating all of the corpses.
I have yet to have a colony more than about 8 people just because of how hectic it is, but this makes me want to give it a try.

If only he was a jogger/fast walker.  Then I would say that he could kite a Centipede by himself with nothing but a shotgun (or sniper rifle, depending on the centipede's weapon).

Also, I never realized you could install AI cores into people.  It improves their skill gain rate, I am guessing?

This.  And maybe a cannibal or two.  :D

A pacifistic cannibal?  Not entirely certain how he had his first bite, but I guess that will let the other colonists sleep a bit more peacefully in case of starvation.

Great story!  Thanks for sharing; makes me want to try a tundra or other frozen landscape.  Looking forward to your desert outpost.
