Mods / Re: [Request/Idea] Necromancy!

I don't know about this. Since RimWorld is a futuristic game, Necromancy seems kind of wrong placed. Captain Future meets Game of Throne Style.
Maybe, just maybe, we talk about injecting nanobots into dead bodies so the nanobots revive the body and are under the control of the colony then? You would need a control center and someone who operates it of course... and the body decays sooner or later.
Would fit better into the futuristic scenario, just sayin'

Mods / [Request/Idea] The Body Recovery Unit 3000
August 05, 2015, 08:05:30 AM
* A wild salesman approaches *

"Dear Ladies,dear Gentleman, may i have your ear.
It is a great day to introduce you the newest invention in terms of recreation and restoring of the human body, the Body Recovery Unit 3000. You may ask what all this is about? Well, listen closely. Aren't you mad about all those workers losing foots, fingers, ears etc. in very unnecessary accidents and conflicts in your colony? Don't be mad, be smart because the solution to all your problems is here. With the Body Recovery Unit 3000 or B.U.R.3K, it's possible give your workers and fellow colonists their lost body parts back! Awesome, isn't it? You may ask, "How is that possible?" and I tell you "it's so simple even a baby will understand". Just place your incomplete colonist in the Chamber of the Body Recovery Unit 3000, fill the chamber with some glitzerwelt medicine, add some well ... human like ingredients (we all know, intergalactic trade of human flesh is illegal but if theres no Judge there'll be no executioner, right?) and viola, in just a day or maybe two, depending on what needs to be replaced, your colonists got all the small lost body parts back and are ready for action... almost. Give them some hours rest in his bed so he can recover from the procedure. Is it complicated to operate the Body Recovery Unit 3000? Of course it's not, someone with a medical value of 10 and a mechanical value of 4 can operate this device full of wonders while the patient is inside it and gets its parts back. Speaking of parts, to be honest, there's a limit to what even glitzerwelt-medicine can to. restoring a whole leg, arm or organs like lung or the eyes is not possible at the moment. To be honest, who's so dumb losing a whole leg or an arm? It's ridiculous. It is potential to heal brain injuries though. Its not a problem to delay the once begun process up to half a day before the internal medical system is no longer able to keep the occupant alive. Enough time for a professional like your workers to perform such a simple and easy task. As far as you keep your power on and electricity flowing nothing could possibly go wrong (no really, keep that power up during the process, its important!). After you've learned how awesome and glorious this device is, you already might yell "shut up and take my money" but don't be to patronizing, this great and important piece of glitzerwelt-technic will come to your colonies only and only via an Exotic Goods trader for no more than ~5000 silver, depending on the change of course. You as an honourable colonie leader would never buy such an perfect and superior machine from one of those Pirate Merchant even if it's cheaper, would you? It might be stolen and could cause some problems with the original owners afterwards. So, you wouldn't do this, you are to magnificent for this, I feel it. So... how many B.U.R 3000 you want to order? 20? There's an discount for 25 though."

===TL;DR===
Got tired of all the crippled colonists and this idea of a machine in RimWorld that can restore fingers, hands, foots, all the small stuff that gets lost in battle, by accident or on the hunt and can't be replaced by now. Legs, arms and organs still need to be transplanted though and can not be recovered with this. Its very expensive to buy so the player can only purchase it in late game, only can be bought from a trader, needs expensive ingredients and, most importantly, constant power or it's failure will be the same thing as the Hydroponics basin with its plants but with your colonists. A colonist with skill in medicine and mechanical must operate the device, interruptions are ok for a short while but things get complicated after the process is paused for some hours. Afterwards the colonist is exhausted from the procedure and needs additional rest (background: If you want a better functioning colonist back, you have to operate some time completely without him).

So,what do you think? Is this RimWorld-material or what?
Greetings,

after you said it runs good on nvidia i got a bit suspecious.

i deleted the "Ludeon Studios" directory out of unity3d ( /home/username/.config/unity3d/Ludeon Studios/Rimworld/ ).

Now everything works fine.

Here is my guessing:
first, I did not start the right file ( start_RimWorld.sh ). By mistake I used "RimWorld671Linux.x86_64" instead and realized the enormious glitches I told you above. After that i used the right file start_RimWorld.sh and it still looked murky.
I think starting the game with the wrong file for the first time placed a srewed up config file for the game. After I've used the right file to start the game, it still loaded that wrong made config-file.

Now everythings fine. Thank you so far. I'll enjoy this great game on my big screen now, no regrets so far.

Hello everyone,

all Iam able to see after Ive started a game is this:
http://imgur.com/iZ18gzI
and it doesn't seem to be right... amiright?
I tested switching quality from normal to good an back with no success.
the mouse is very laggy too, like there are only 3 - 6 fps but i don't know.
I've used the "start_RimWorld.sh" ("RimWorld671Linux.x86_64" was much more ugly, nearly freaked out, going crazy with light green, it was awesome!)

My hardware stats are:
AMD A8-3850 CPU @ 4x2,9GHz
8192MB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 (2GB, prop. drivers from Nvidia Version 346.22)

Hope that someone can help me with this. I want to play this, obviously, masterpiece ;)

Edit:
runs good on my Acer Aspire One with Intel HD 4000 with Ubuntu linux installed too. Are there some issues with nvidia-cards in general?
