General Discussion / Re: Zombies or nah?
April 10, 2014, 01:13:34 PM
I don't feel that zombies would be a good fit for Rimworld although the ability to add them as a mod would be nice.

I do feel that some other kind of non zombie virulent plague might be an interesting idea. For example you capture a raider and they infect your warden with space flu and then spread it to the rest of your colony.
Infected colonists are unable to work and without medical equipment or supplies have a chance of dieing from the illness. Maybe even have a way to minimize spread such as quarantine and hygiene practices.

Ideas / Re: A Pure Colony

These are some great ideas. I'd love to be able to trade with other factions.
Being able to make money from running a small motel would be a great thing too. Maybe being able to recruit visitors with non violent methods also.

I dont see any reason why you cant install rimworld on a tablet that can run windows.

As someone with an x86 Windows tablet I will include my experience here. Rimworld installs and runs fine on a Baytrail Win8 tablet (Asus Vivotab Note8) but the controls of the game are not designed with tablets in mind and it is impossible to navigate by touch.

It does run fine with an external keyboard although my Bluetooth keyboard/trackpad is a bit too small for comfortable use gaming. I'm hoping that there are some UI changes to allow Rimworld to be played on Win8 devices eventually.

Another example of Google's 'perfect' code in action. They are always right even when they are wrong.

Ive stopped using Youtube for the most part due to this and the forced merger with Google+ a social network I did not want to use.

OP: Can I get a link to your videos please?

I have a windows 8 tablet. (Asus Vivotab Note8) which runs the real X86 version of Windows 8. I have mucked around with Rimworld on the tablet and it is mostly playable. Without keyboard controls to navigate I have issues with moving the camera but other then that it is mostly playable. And as Ramsis previously posted it is possible to play this game on Android devices with Splashtop.

If navigation buttons were added to the game to allow touch screen navigation I'd happily help test out such features.
