I think I have killed more of my own colonists with minigun friendly fire than raiders. Wandering into raiding parties or friendly fire while doing chores is a big issue for me, too. I like the auto toggle idea. But I'll settle for any kind of warding zone.

Ideas / Do Not Enter Zone
May 03, 2015, 05:33:09 PM
First of all I'd like to say I LOVE the game
I'd like to suggest adding a "Do Not Enter" zone type that will prevent colonists from entering that area. Primarily I'd like it to prevent colonists from wandering outside the confines of my base during raids or wandering in front of gunfire. However it could also be used to prevent colonists from walking over objects that slow movement. You can of course use doors and walls to restrict movement, but it would be nice to create a zone on the fly. Also, I'd like to suggest the enemy AI be upgraded to break down walls if it's the only thing between them and the colonists along the shortest path. I set up a kill box entrance to my base, then have several small tunnels for the colonists to use. During a raid I wall off the entrances to the tunnels and the enemy considers it not passable and takes the kill box route since it is the only open path to my base. The enemy could easily knock out the 1x1 wood wall in the tunnel.
