I was contemplating to put this into the cheapest ideas thread because it should be not very time consuming to add, but since this can be expanded upon with new plants, terrain generation etc. and require additional balancing I put it in a separate thread.

More biome variations on the current ones that should be simple to add, but provide much more gameplay options, inspired by increased forest density mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=751887749

List of changes proposed:
1. Add a more dense boreal forest called taiga, additionally can add small dense patches of forest into the current biome.

2. Add a more dense temperate forest, rename current one to temperate plains/grassland (cause let's be fair it looks more like plains than forest)

I think it looks great. Also you can make the trees grow in patterns like mountains (so there are natural occurring glades) it would make for very beautiful environments and a different way to play the game.
It can be expanded upon which would make the idea not that cheap to implement, by adjusting different aspects like rainfall, dry fire chances etc. for balance purposes.

3. Add more variations to tropical forests, by adding tropical marshlands (almost no trees), as well as a new Dense Tropical Rainforest with much more dense vegetation.

All the more dense biome versions would be slower to travel on global map (+marshlands), they can be random patches or have more profound generation algorithms on the global map.

In general I think it would add a lot of variety to gameplay at no expense of anything - all current biomes are still in place.
Going forward I think in general adding biomes is a good idea to bring more content into the game.

One of my pawns proposed to another and got rejected, then he did it again to the same pawn and got accepted. Then after some time passes, they get married... And I notice he still has the "Rejected marriage proposal" -18 debuff. Would make sense if accepted proposal canceled the previous rejected mood debuff.

Moderator's Edit (Calahan) - I have merged this post (new thread) with the other open report regarding this exact same issue (which itself is waiting for some clarification from Tynan/ison/Zobra regarding if everything is WAD, or not. ie. Moodlet stacking).

add a timer ability for electronic devices.  like the work schedule we have already, or like the teacher schedule available in the leadership mod.  let us automate either individual components or, if that's too OP, then at least let switches be timed and leave it to the players to build complex wiring or not.
I second this, to expand on this suggestion:
Let us add "bills" to things like lamps, sun lamps and any other electrical devices. They essentially tell pawns when to switch them on and off.

Add low priority pop-up(like the yellow ones?) when you run out of storage and still have possible hauling jobs. I have ran into a problem of pawns not hauling things until only later I realized I don't have enough space for storage.

Important for the pop-up to have a few conditions:
1. There is one or more storage spots configured for the specific item
2. The item is set to be hauled (not forbidden or set to haul for slags/chunks)
3. All the stockpiles that allow the item are filled up. (Of course does not apply to any other stockpiles that have the item forbidden.

The pop-up can look something like: "The storage for *insert storage type here* has run out!"
An example: "The storage for raw resources has run out!"
Or it can be more specific: "The storage for power armour has run out!"

Bugs / [A16] - Retina resolution scaling
March 11, 2017, 02:38:06 AM
Hello, right now on my macbook pro retina (2880x1800 resolution) I am forced to play on a lower resolution than I would like to.
In fullscreen I am able to set the resolution to 2880x1800, but internal Rimworld safeguards prevent me from scaling the UI higher.
See this image:

Can you please remove those internal safeguards for Retina macs or introduce support for it otherwise.
Thank you.

EDIT: now upon further looking into it, even though it sets the resolution to 2880x1800, the real resolution is still low (1400x900), you can see it by the smudged text in the screenshot. I suppose the problem is a little harder to deal with than just allowing for more UI scaling.
