General Discussion / Multiple Bases
September 26, 2018, 01:49:58 PM
Good afternoon my dudes.

I am currently playing randy on the second most difficult setting.

My colony is doing great. I've made my money with crops. I have 10 pawns.

I've run out of metal resources on my map and plan on expanding out to take over a second tile.

I have done this in the past, loaded up my mules with supplies and traveled 2-3 tiles over where there's lots to mine.

It never seems to work out according to plan. Something really bad almost always happen! haha.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how far out I should go or tips on the best way to transport items from one base to another? Metal is heavy!

It doesn't seem like there's as much steel slag on the map as there used to be- so it seems like a move is imminent.

I am mid game.

Thanks!

frail?  i'm not sure if you can develop frail as a condition

Liver problems could also hit.

Lastly, i think immunity gain speed is tied to age, so at a certain point, they may die to routine diseases if that gain speed decay isn't capped

I have never been on a forum with so many people who play games the way they are "meant" to be played.

It is refreshing to know that I'm not the only one trying to just have fun when I game vs attempting to beat the system and "be the best".

I'm very grateful for all of the updates.

Tynan, you have created and are continuing to improve on one of the best, if not, THE BEST, game I've ever played.

I tell my friends at work about this game. They are blown away by the stories your coding has helped create.

Keep up the amazing work- if not for the money, than for creating the most enjoyable rts/colony builder/survival/rpg/simulation ever created.

99% of games come and go these days- Rimworld has been in my arsenal since the day I touched it two years ago.

lol this thread made me laugh. It happens to me all the time. My main animals (haulers, defenders, mounters) are usually pretty well behaved but if I get an auto tame rat or bunny- 99 times out of 100, they are doing all the alcohol and drugs they can get their hands on. I had a rat addicted to luciferum just laying around and going into rages once every couple of days.

hahaha, i always put a description in the saved game name- because I can be quite forgetful past midnight.

I also always quit at the end of the night when something that requires my full attention pops up.

On my current game, I've had Stonehenge DISEASED, Stonehenge RAID, Stonehenge All is Well, Stonehenge BALLIN and my most recent from last night Stonehenge ANGRYWOLVES. Tonight, i'll be loggin into about 25 wolves surrounding the walls of my base. Omg, it's all coming back to be as I type. They knocked down the door to the outer wall and have made it into the garden. I have pawns everywhere. I think I'm going to have to make a new zone to keep my people safe and pick them off slowly.

I've been playing Randy on intense and it seems to ridiculous. Going to dial it back a little.

I play by really cut throat rules. No re-loading, perma death, etc.

Mods / Mod Request: LEADERSHIP
December 17, 2017, 08:08:21 PM
Hey guys, loved the alpha leadership mod. I think it'd be huge to have access to it in Beta too.

It adds a lot more depth to the RPG part of the game.

Thanks!

Unfinished / Beta 18 Leadership Mod?
December 16, 2017, 01:14:34 PM
The leadership mod was one of my favorites and really adds a lot of depth to a colony.

If anyone has a version that's compatible with the beta, please post it.

Thank you!

Thanks guys!

I played on intense, "beat the game" by becoming impenetrable (do tribes just stop attacking because they know they won't win?), then changed to the hardest setting after the fact, in hopes they'd start throwing me new raids.

I wish I could put my people through some more hell, but it seems as if this colony has "won" and survived.

Hey guys, I popped up a few weeks ago to talk about my first attack on a computer base.

To keep a long story short, I played out an "intense" difficulty classic 3 man party, survived, built up a 14 man group and was more advanced technologically than my computerized enemies.

At one point, it seemed like the attacks on my base completely stopped. 0 attacks for 2-3 years. This only allowed me to get stronger, up to the point where I laid down my own attack. The rewards of taking down a tribe that is less technologically advanced than my own were nill- making me feel like it was just a waste of time preparing and moving my troops.

I attacked a second base, the strongest computer enemy I could find, wrecked them and came away with some food and a couple batteries.

I have stopped playing because I don't want to mindlessly grind my way up to having all of the materials I need to build a space ship without any challenge.

Bug? Am I too good (highly doubt it!).

Thanks

I have a guy that's a "veteran warrior" or whatever and he is incapable of violence. He can't do dumb labor or skilled labor.

He has 2 medical so he's my back up to the back up medic.

Yoshi- regarding the sniper, I believe her shooting skill was like 4 and it was a mistake to begin with handing her the sniper rifle from a previous engagement. I figured her 4 shooting skill armed with a sniper rifle would be a perfect candidate to man the mortar!

I haven't had much luck with snipers, TBH.
