Perhaps a way would be, to "overload" the animal. Which gives a negative speed like "Movement x 50% because auf overload".
Yeah that sound interesting. Oxen can carry enormous weight according to the article  I read. I know a muffelo isn't exactly an oxen but it's a similar kind of buffalo, bison thing. And at the moment it can even carry its own body weight, or an over weight colonist, lol.
I think it needs a real twerk, 200kg at the least but able to carry 300kg but with each 10kg over 200 a 10% movement penalty. So a muffelo carrying 250kg will have a 50% speed reduction, slowing the whole caravan down.

What about incubator tanks, where they are grown fast to adulthood. Or growth hormone similar to Jango Fett clones.

Shooting target for your shooters to practice improve their skills, as hunting takes ages, also for those with a passion for shooting, I've noticed hunting doesn't do much.
Also a punching bag for melee or boxing ring where tow pawns can spar

Ideas / Muffelo Carrying Cap Increase & feeding

As I progress in to early midgame and later, and just scraping a living isn't so much the issue anymore, sending out caravans on attack raids and trading missions seems to come to the fore.
What would really help is making muffelos more useful buy increasing their carrying cap, 75kg is just way too low, considering an oxen can carry or pull up to 900kg. I'm not suggesting 900kg, but maybe 300. Also the fact that they just eat through all the food is crazy. I think in summer they should not need feeding as grazing is available and in winter you can take hay and they will eat that as a priority.
I love the of caravaning, campaigning on long missions raiding settlements, but the current setup makes it very hard to haul alot of loot, and food.
Maybe you could feed the muffelos too in summer as a moment speed bonus, or if you don't feed them and rely on grazing a moment speed penalty of 30%

This sounds pretty interesting, especially once you start hitting mid game and your not just surviving anymore but growing your trading empire.

Hey from Marbella Spain, just started playing Rimworld a couple of weeks ago and I'm blown away, what a great game with so much depth, and potential. It's the greatest game I've played so far. Love what you guys are producing.

This would be nice to see, the amount of times my guys end up in hospital because they got shot in the back by their own guys, lol.
