Ideas / Re: Faster travel: Bikes and/or Horses
July 07, 2014, 05:28:51 AM
I like your ideas, they are good, horses especially. But I would replace bike with vechicles. Something like podracers from Star Wars I or vulture from Starcraft or bikes let's leave it for a while.

How should this vechicles be controlled?
a) Should they be manually opereted by player - "Jim, take this horse and ride there, then I'll order you to dismount and you should hunt this muffalos"?

b)Or should vechicles be assigned to characters as a gear? And Jim would just take his vulture whenever he goes hunting or to haul something from far away?(I think about "parking place zone" where they would leave vechicles and or horses when going inside)

c)Or should there just be vechicles avaible for all collonists  and they would use it whenever they need?

Option b sounds good for me, plus button next to draft that would allow or forbiden using mounts/vechicles at specified moment("Jim, get out of this flying can and take cover!")

Today after few minutes of trench war with local tribes I had no more defence lines to fall back so I have fallen back inside my base. How surprised I was when tribals ran past my two still-staying-on-their-feet-but-they-could-use-a-short-brake fighters and started ramming door to bedrooms where my incapacitated colonists were laying. Well, result of their prisoner hunting was as following: two died, one were taken as prisoner, two or three ran away. I think their decision making needs some improvements.

And here I brought a suggestion: maybe they should care about their wounded ones?

On this screenshot you can see my colonists falling back to base(Davidou who fallen back firsttly is mounting up a turret at front of the door) cover by one turret near top edge of the screen. Tribals will get it down soon and will advance inside my base. But there is one shaman, so I guess it's important person for their tribe, bleeding out.

I would like to suggest adding option like stabilize-person with high doctor skill can make helpless character stop loosing hp for an hour or two so he don't need to be dragged to bed far away from combat(I know that A6 will have some changes about health condtiodons and healing, so it's good opportunity to think about this). Ahhh, and yes, these Tribals might try to save their shaman.

I'm not sure if it's not intended, that colonists won't eat from prisoner's cell, but if it is I would appreciate some kind of notification clearly saying "all your food is unreachable for your colonists because you set kitchen as cell".

Montecore is starving but doesn't eat. When I ordered him to harvest some vegetables from garden he ate it immediately.

Cause of my problem was bed set for prisoners use in this room. After setting it as bed for colonists and resetting(double R) my mate decided to feast.
