Quote from: Semmy on December 12, 2013, 01:51:52 PMSomeday this will be fixed aswell since rimworld only runs at 1 core atm.
Tynan might take care of that in the future when he starts optimizing the game.
I doubt it will happen, unless Tynan already planned to use more cores and designed the architecture around it. All I have read points to "major pain" when trying to add threads/multicore support retroactively, cause so much code needs to be "thread-proof".

That said, the possible gains from multi-thread would please me very much.

What else?

Austria is Missing  :(

I am the first to vote "austrian", even though above quote is about two pages in the past ;-)

Vienna, to be precise

Thanks for the response. I tried any number of things, not sure if dragging the middle column was part of it. (And: yes, its 12.10 - will update soonish)

I will try again this evening... just like described in the video.

Edit: OK, it works ... sort of. UI design has reached DF levels.

I am running Ubuntu 12.10 64bit.

When trading with the spaceship, I cannot buy or sell food or metal.

Steps to reproduce:
1) wait until spaceship is announced
2) send colonist to console; tell her/him to trade
3) there is a popup for trading, you can choose weapons, slaves or general stuff (do not know the exact wording right now)
4) weapons work as expected, slaves I did not test.
5) However, general stuff including food and metal does not:
There is a tooltip which says "drag and drop"
However, whatever I try to drag and drop, it does not let itself be dragged. In the middle row there is a number which changes color if clicked, but I cannot change the number to any value. (Starting value is zero). The button trade on the bottom does not do anything I noticed.

Possibly this is just a misunderstanding, but right now it feels for me as if drag and drop is intended but does not work.

General Discussion / Re: Introduce Yourself!

Quote-What introduced you to RimWorld? Or to this style of game in general?
Found on a blog Towns - played it a lot for half a year. Then I switched to Gnomoria, a year and a half ago. And even though there were some other games in between, I poored a lot of time into Gomoria. Sadly, right now it is a bit stale, and I need a fresh challenge. Now when I saw this game at kickstarter...

Quote-What's your favorite other game?
Gnomoria

Quote-Most embarrassing gaming-related story?
Uhhmm... maybe the time when I lost orientation in DieVerdammten, a Browsergame. Not only I was in the middle of the desert with no energy left, a few others who followed as well...

Quote-What kind of breakfast cereal is the best?
Cereal? None of them. I prefer toast. Buttered with jam.

Stories / Loner Noble
November 05, 2013, 08:36:51 AM
Downloaded the game yesterday. Started a game, what else?  One of the original 3 is a noble. Looked at him, did not have many useful skills, but 14 social. Cool. Looked more, thought if I should reroll the stats. Then I saw he has not only high social but also the "Loner"-Trait -> this makes him a keeper.  8)
