Hello,

Since i got a well running base, the game only send all kinds of diseases to me. I looks like the AI tries all to kill my colonists. I got multiple diseases, together with psychic drone.

So is the new late game like theme hospital? It feels more just like a mood manager.

Is there anything i'm able to do to avoid this stuff?

I am worried due to me not being 100% as to which e-mail I used to buy the game, I believe i've already bought the game twice already due to me not remember precisely which e-mail I used x.x

I just searched my whole e-mail client about "rimworld" and found the mails with the sendowl links for the drm-free versions i played so far. I looked up the email they send to - it is the same email as my paypal account i used to buy the game back in 2013.

@EdB

isn't it possible for you to convert Tynans "dev console" code for you stuff? With his dev tools, it is possible to change everything in the game - so it looks like most of the work is already done :)

nice, i really like to play, but i wait for your mod =)

looking forward for this =)

are you able to control them while draft is on?

i got this issue twice - one was simply caused by a mod (wrong mod order, MD2 droids and backstorys).

the other is not easy to describe, happens in a vanilla game. at some point, my colonists also stopped doing stuff, even stuff for their mood. they only started over again, after i switched to manual priotity. everytime i switched back to auto, they stopped working again. got no solution yet.

multiple raids are a bug - they will be fixed in the next hotfix as tynan wrote.

Dwarf Fortress has an adventure mode.  So maybe something like that.

Though I really like to see FTL meets Rimworld.

thats what i thought too. you leave the planet, play like ftl, get shoot by someone and crash again :)

I'm not trying to vilify Tynan, so please don't try to marginalize me. Thanks.

it wasn't my intention to marginalize anyone, don't take it personal :). i just talked about the "trend" many ea titles got to deal with. feel yourself hugged :)

i also think (and as many wrote) that a steam release at this time will stir up the community. no one of the new users knows about the evolution the game made during last updates. we know that a11 comparing to other alphas is the best so far, but they will see the game only at it's current state and surely cry for more.

QuoteNo true sense of how much content would be in the game when it was finished was ever established, meaning consumers had to make some degree of assumption

Ok, well I agree with the first part of this, however the second part just isn't true. No assumptions about the future need to be made at all. The consumer's best advice is to look at a product as it is today and decide if they want that. If they don't want what's right there in front of them, don't buy. No assumptions needed.

This is being marketed as an alpha release of a game, not a complete game. That is the difference.

If this were being marketed as a complete game already, then I would agree.

Ok. Well we can agree to disagree on this specific point. In any case, I appreciate the thoughts.

at my view, most people mistake "buying into an alpha" for "buying a share". spending the money to a developer and getting into early access does not mean that you buy some power of decision. It's like ordering a dish - if the roundness of a potato does not match to your expectations, you can't blame the cook for chosing it.

fire in hallways or rooms are really colony killer.

multiple colonies which work together

after leaving with the space ship, would be nice to play on with the stuff taken by the crew and the possibility to trade/communicate with the old base.
