Work slaves only seem to haul, which is fine, but as I understand they should also do specific work like mining. Do I need to train them?

Agree wholeheartedly. Actually suggested this myself some time ago : https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=28068.msg284671#msg284671

Exactly! And I'm not a coder, but I'm fairly sure this can be easily implemented.

Ideas / Jobs and titles

A while ago I suggested a administration feature, because every town needs some sort of admin. This would add a lot of RP. Unfortunately it was turned down. Yesterday I was playing the unstable test build, and noticed we could have several bases. Which got me thinking again. Then I noticed the framework was already in place.

If we could edit the rule where it says 'Male Colonist', that would add the RP, without the need of creating a new menu. We could make up our own titles and jobs.

Mods / Re: Role in the colony

I've suggested this some time ago, but it got turned down due to being too 'dwarfy'. Every colony has an administration, so why not in Rimworld?

Imagine you could appoint a quartermaster or a chief of medicine. The possibilities are endless.

You can manually add Rimworld to Steam you know, you can even do it now.

Wouldn't it be cool if your colony reaches a certain size, your colonists would elect a mayor or leader? You could even expand on this with other positions like a quartermaster or head physician.

General Discussion / Doc, you cheeky bugger you.

So Frank and Devlin, 2 of my colonists, decide to get married after having been engaged for some time. Doc, the 3rd colonists gets in a last minute attempt at winning Devlin over just seconds before the actual wedding takes place.

Doc then casually talks to Frank like nothing ever happened. God I love the new mechanics in A13.

EDIT:

Seconds after the ceremony, Doc tries yet again. Holy hell Doc, give it a rest already.

General Discussion / Re: Inferno Cannons

Have you tried melee weapons? I know this might sounds crazy, but I've had a lot of success in melee when fighting centipedes. Just make sure to avoid the minigun/cannon when you assault the damn thing

Where are you getting this from? Is there a changelog I missed?

I always find ice sheet colonies highly impressive. I've started maybe a dozen colonies on ice sheets, but I always fail to get enough food by the time my survival meals run out.

Is this with mods btw?

Oh I know how to fix it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This is hilarious.

Quote from: Owlchemist on September 30, 2015, 02:19:43 AMAnd this is coming from someone who adores Aurora. Which wasn't a game mentioned yet. It's sometimes nicknamed the dwarf fortress of space and it's been around for a longass time too. You can get it here, on their forums. Prepare for a week+ of learning how to play, though, it's a ridiculously complex game ;)

I discovered Aurora a couple of days ago, and it seems amazing. I've been watching Lets Play series almost non stop and I still haven't got a clue about what to do in game. I really REALLY like the in depth character development where hypothetically a young Captain can get promoted all the way to Governor of Earth for example.

A colony hierarchy, where you appoint a leader, maybe even a military commander (sort of like the nobles from DF).

I know the amount of colonists usually in Rimworld isn't enough to warrant a complete hierarchy, but I think it would be cool.
