  • If you don't mod the game, maybe you should. Annoyance is a strong motivation to come up with constructive ways of adjusting the game to your own personal preference.
  • Make suggestions. Get your point across. Use diagrams and bullet points. Get people involved in constructive discussion.

And no, don't expect it to suddenly change overnight. I've been modding packaged survival meals since A7 and Tynan still hasn't taken the hint. ;)

Well, I dont even know how to make mods and how hard is this. Do you know any sort of guides?

Well... When I first played It, I thought about cars, upper and lower levels, raiding someone else, better combat system, and lots of other stuff... Bu-u-ut, sadly, after joining and drifting through forum, I found out that developers have not a very big amount of people and recources, as I thought, but still, I was waiting and waiting, but they want to add only cheap stuff, as said Tynan, so, yeah. And im still sitting sad and waiting for some kind of a miracle from the developers.

This game is headed in the correct direction, away from all the shoot em up war based games out there.  It is trying to fill a market for survival game, where fighting is something that happens on OCCASION, but is not the main story. Struggling against the climate, the local wildlife, the local fauna, with each other, all need to be part of the game. Resource shortages, Fire, and thiefs, along with trading with the locals all need to part of this survival game.  And less fighting. 

Complication is the reality of survival.

Sounds totally like SIMS, but if it was Bear Grylls edition...

So, ater my pause of playing RimWorld, seeing some posts of Tynan about the story and quests, I thought about the main characters, maybe I am not first, but could this be a good idea? I would like to see some unique main characters that have boosted stats, unique skills (like sixth sense about incoming attack, and stuff like that), skins and weapons. They could be taken down, but not killed, so living non main characters colonists could heal them back, but if every colonist that could put them back in shape dies, you lose. And there is more of stuff to add with main characters.

And now to the save port, also I may be not first, but I want to know if it possible (or this was already made but I dont know). I think its kinda hard to some colonist to leave their old colony and move to next Alpha. So, is this really that hard, you cant add this? I mean, alot of players would really like to have this. I know, that there are people who like to start everyting again and again, but not everyone like this.

don't like it feel free to stick to alpha 1 or go find something else to play, none is forcing you to update and play this ever improving game

Changing and adding new stuff to game is good, but it doesnt mean that we need to create a sims-santa-barbara simulator from this game...

You have been very negative in the past on these forums and not in a constructive way, what is it in particular that you feel is NOT being added to the game, what element is missing for you?

Every alpha changes are too little... No significant changes, just little things that doesnt affect the game in survival, fighting and building. Only this sims stuff... Joy, every wound causes infection, and stuff like that. Climate... They made it so comlicated... Why? Why not just make a simple heater or conditioner??? It could be easy, but no, lets make it a bloody pain in the ass!!! Colonists want to live in five-star hotel after space ship wreck on a planet full of mutants, bandits, wild men and hostile alien machines . I dont know about how hard is this to make, and as people say it is hard, but why do you start to develop a game, if not to make a great hame? Money or popularity wont come by itself, if autors will put their hard work and their soul in this game, it will become a great game.

I am totally agree with colonist707, game is just moving the wrong direction.

Im so sad about this game :( In Alpha 3 I had so much hopes about this game, but more new updates were coming out, less enjoyable game was becoming to me. There was added so much useless stuff to new updates, you know, it was becoming like one of these shitty mods... And now... I am really disapointed. Colonists became so easy to take down by a simpe things, its like if colonists where princesses taken from their pink castles and placed into survival situation. And there is more useless  stuff to waste resources, it will take me a big amount of time to achieve it, and nothing will change in the gameplay anyway... After Alpha 3  85% of new content is just useless crap and doesnt change anything, its like tinsel, it just exists and glows... Quoting colonist707, game became "the sims", and according to DevBlogs they are moving towards this direction :( After playing Alpha 3 thought that some day, in like alpha 20-25 game will be done, but it isnt going  to come out of alpha stage, because of  new game elements it just became TRASH. Game is living because of the achieved in Alpha 1-3 fanbase, that is making some movement near the game, but game attracts less and less people until it will die. Some people will understand me, some not, some are game hardcore fans will be proving me that Im not right, or just some trolls and kids, you know...

Dude it seems you arent long on forums and you are calling this fresh idea.There were many ideas like this and i had it too and made topic.
1st. WOW! 47 posts! Omg ure such an oldfag and pro! Sure you are the boss here! 2nd. Of course there were already suggestions like this Mr.Oldfaggetson, Ive made that post to make it more popular, so they developers will do something that will cardinally change gameplay. I know that they wont run to theyr PCs, screaming: "O-h-h-h sh*t! Yes! Lets do it because of one probably 10-year old kid made such a fresh suggestion!" I just made another post of this, so developers konw that there are people who wants it, thats all....

I disagree. I think the game has a strong build for what it is actually trying to do. If what the game is now is what you call being stuck, then maybe - just maybe this game originally wasnt intended for your audience? I recall this being exactly what was described in the kickstarter and is still what they are aiming for.
Well, I just suggested man. Everyone have personal point of view and different tastes...

I mean, it shouldnt be necessary raiding, but moving between location for something to diversify gameplay. Ugh... Game is stuck anyway...

Game will stuck in alpha stage and die because of cheap ideas. Game needs something fresh. After temperature update it became only worse, I mean, I stopped gaining fun from game... Game became slower. This is going to be an infinite alpha -_- It stuck on one location where we defend, IT NEEDS something like raiding or location changing. Vehicles, raids and stuf would be awesome. And yeah, terrarianoob2, they are mechanoids man, what the hell are you talknig about? In our game we are building defenses, sandbags, turrets and other stuff. But we never raid others! I suggest to add raiding ability for player. In raid we could destroy and rob camps, bases or other colonies, maybe it can be a secret research facilities, bandit planetary base, ship wreckages, mechanoids bases or ancient alien bases of mechanoids! A background story of planet can be discovered in these raids about mechanoids, aliens, etc. Just imagine how many possibilities it opens! This will make the game much more colorful and it will keep player to play it more! In raids could be realised vehicles! Vehicles could be used in attack and to carry stuff that you got after raid. And it can be not only resources, it can also be things that were already build in raided colony, like de-energized turrets, batteries etc. Base that we are raiding can has its strengths and weaknesses, can be safer from one point, or have damaged areas, where it could be easier to raid at. Before full raid it is good to scout enemys positions and weaknesses, raids can maybe have war thog, so it will be more challenging. Also in raids people will be hurt. It needs something like colonist-field medic with something to heal or stabilize colonysts that were shot until the raid is over. Vehicles are very old theme for RimWorld, they can be realized in this update. Raidables can be infinite or amount of raids can be limited. Its alot of stuff that could be realized in it, I want to see this In RimWorld so-o-o-o-o much! It will make game much better!

Every new Alpha update for game adds something new, something like temperature issues or mechanoids. The problem is, that all people are diffirent, everyone have their own point of view, their own strategys etc. Not everyone like something new in new Alpha, but they do like something else that were added, like bug fixes, armour, new researches etc. And people want to play with new Alpha and new abilities, but they want to backup something certain from it, but keep another new stuff from this update. I suggest to add a special options menu, or ingame menu, to for example disable machanoids and temperature issues but keep everything else from new update. And do this from Alpha 1, because i bet, that not only I liked old stockpile area from it, that was keeping all resources in little square... And some people want to see things they liked in previous Alpha at new one. Reader, do you get it? Please, I want to hear answer from someone who is working on game, or moderator who thinks that this could be useful or not.
