Agreeing with Lokarn, burying the dead even if they are your enemy is not just the moral thing to do but also nobody wants dead corpses laying around.

What I would like though is to be able to bury the dead and still build over them.

I feel exactly the same. I tend to lock mine in when I draft them and send them back to base.

I highly doubt he'd have people pay for updates after 1.0. Expansions and such however, sure.

Guessing you already have this in mind somewhere to be implemented at some point but just to be sure, it would be nice to be able to set patrols for drafted individuals who only take breaks to take care of their necessities such as food, sleep. Prison Architect's system for example, you can define a path to be patrolled, how many are patrolling. Would also be nice to set options for it like "minimum: 1 maximum: 3".

Could be either automatic (around defined home region) or a player selected path.

I can already see man's best friend getting shot by its owner repeatedly, the AI never seems to be aware of friendly-fire.

Poor dog will be fully bionic in 2 days tops. Speaking of dog bionics.. POWER JAW!
