Bugs / Re: Disappearing pants, m16 and prisoner

Playing vanilla...was hoping I wasn't the only one getting this. Ill try a clean dload + new colony.

I had stopped playing and planned on waiting for next release, but if my game got corrupted somehow it might be that simple.
I wouldnt know how to reproduce it since it was happening at random as I played

Bugs / Disappearing pants, m16 and prisoner
December 12, 2014, 09:34:40 PM
Version 0.8.652

Items and prisoner disappearing.

I first noticed one of my initial pawns was getting upset so I checked their mood mods and one was that they were nude. Checked their equipment and saw they had no pants. Thought I had let the poor girl walk around pants-less since crash landing, so I put some pants on her and thought no more of it.
Someone joined the colony a few weeks later so I armoured them up and carried on, however they also had a mood drop (there was a lot of corpses around) so I checked how I could improve their situation and found he had lost his pants! (Both lost pants were synthread, not sure if that matters).
No issues for about 3 hours of play, then my main run and gunner's M16 is suddenly missing as I select her to engage the enemy.
And the final thing that happened was I created 2 new separate prison rooms to close my old mass prison. Not remembering how I get the warden to move the prisoners I turned all the sleep spots to medical only. The warden rolls down there and grabs one (I wasn't watching, some other crisis needed my attention (not an attack)) and when I look, only one of the prison rooms is occupied. The second prisoner just vanished.
I checked the whole map and he is nowhere ( I play on 2nd largest map).

Thanks for reading!

I have to agree all round. Penalties for doing unsavoury tasks seems more logical. Sometimes it will even push them over the edge!
Add: Even a time/outcome penalty in addition to mood loss (stacking?)

This idea is bloody fantastic. I have to admit kevinclark's idea of tagging a building/structure for auto-rebuild really sings for me

General Discussion / Re: Steam

@Dr.Z I can only answer for myself- I have enough passwords and accounts with every internet service that I need without adding extras that are on top of having stuff that already does the same thing.
However, rimworld was well worth steppibg out of my comfort zone. No regrets here. If I had the choice I would have chosen steam though

If the whole ransom/demands thing happens, it'll be part of a bigger diplomacy system. But that's a deep, challenging system, it really needs its own alpha.
The fact that you weigh everything and plan in detail makes this game so much better.

If you do introduce a ransom/demand thing, I would love to see the enemy seeking more than just silver. Even a 'we don't care, as long as it has a value of X' would be amazing.
Having your kidnapped colonists ransomed back to you sounds like a fantastic idea

I think the attackers should have motives and kidnapping seems to be a step in that direction.   They want to achieve something other than feeding your cremator or watering the battlefield with your colonist's entrails.

It could be silver, the release of a prisoner, or maybe they are starving and just want food?  Some demands could be countered by methods that don't result in combat or siege.  You would weigh the enemy combat ability versus the cost of the demand and make a choice.

Everything you said...minus watering the battlefield with entrails...that was weird :P

But I love the way you think! Raiders turn up and demand x amount of food for example, you make the choice of fight or fill a stockpile they place with the demanded food (or silver, metal..whatever). If you fold and do it, they start to make it a regular thing, turning up every month!

General Discussion / Internal strife in Alpha 5
July 09, 2014, 07:16:37 AM
Hi,
While I love everything Alpha 5, including the 'traitor' (although I would have loved it if it was a person who joined the colony short term rather than one of my original 3), the one thing that is piling up is corpses.
Individual factions cant seem to make it across my map without internal strife causing them to kill each other off in massive numbers, leaving so many corpses and weapons my small colony of 9 can't keep up with it.
My save is to big so I found a hosting site (fingers crossed it works)-

A group at the bottom of the map are tearing themselves apart, its sad to see so much hate :(

General Discussion / Re: Vegetarians
June 09, 2014, 09:22:14 PM
Just wanted to throw my 2c in. As has been said, the recipes available will, Im sure, change on their way through to Beta and release.
In Version 2 I did create some vegetarian recipes myself after some research-
Agave Glazed Potato Rings 60 mins
Potato and Strawberry Pudding 50 mins
Strawberry Potato Salad (1 Agave sweetener) 20 mins
Berry Preserve 55 mins

That's just the quick notes on what I had put in game.

I do want to note that Agave can be a difficult resource (like meat) if you return to 'harvesting kills the plant'. The Agave plant dies after flowering http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agave

I know it's probably unnecessary detail for you Tynan, and I wish I had the time to keep working on my mini-mods, but life is extra busy atm.
So if anyone wants to use any of the info I just listed feel free.

Really is an amazing game that keeps growing!

I would love expanded social interactions so I feel more involved with my colonists, rather than just seeing them as a work force to be exploited

I have had a lot more fun in Rimworld than any other game since Xcom (original). No other game has held my attention as long, except MMO's.
Great work
