Off-Topic / Re: Any gamemaker devs?

I've tried making games, but I've never had the initiative to teach myself how to code, so they normally die off. I've got folders on my computer that I'm slowly filling with ideas for games though, so It's not like I don't have any ideas, just that I don't have the time/dedication to actually make something  ::)

I -might- have found what's causing the wierd research error, or at least have a lead on it.

Whenever a save is loaded, this is what the debug log spits out:

I think what's happening is CCL is overriding the research panel, and if there are no mods that add research, it doesn't activate, and the research panel breaks because of it. Or I'm making this stuff up. I don't know.

Alternatively with the vats idea, we already know there are vat-grown soldiers; it's an in-game profession for a reason. Why not just fill the kid's brains with what knowledge you want them to have, and make it impossible for them to do anything besides what they were programmed for?

Is there anyway to get this to work with A12? Just curious, I'm not expecting it to happen if it hasn't yet :P

So...I did everything the install guide said, and the shortcut didn't work. So I did what the guide said in that situation, and instead I got vanilla rimworld. Is there any way I could get the mod order so I can fix this?

Off-Topic / Re: Studying
December 05, 2015, 01:48:02 PM
I have no clue what I'm going to do or study, because my interests change almost daily :)

For example, there was one point in time that i was OBSSESSED with trying to figure out making brain implatns in my little basement, using google to find stuff out

Then it was AI, then electric cars & going to mars (rhyming FTW), the other day it was building a RL, functionin pipboy, yesterday it was coding ALL THE THINGS, today is... well I don't know what to day is, and tomorrow is it's own beast that I'll deal with when I get there.

And now, off to be un satisfied with how easily colonists become unhappy (and wishing they could have about 30 traits all at once...)

This is combat armor, not power armor :) I'm pretty sure it's either crafted or found, or possibly a reward, but it's really good non-powered armor and apparently very rare :)

In the grand scheme of things the star child will rise from the ashes of New California to grant the wishes of the enlightened ones.

I still think Dr.Death and the Fabulous Killjoys will save us, but whatever  ;)

Ideas / Re: [Story] Imagine a Storyteller !

CODENAME : WICKED
Defining attribute : The Maze
Description : WICKED put you in this maze, and no one knows where the exit is, or where those raiders keep coming from; all you know is that it's a maze, full of mechanoids, and you're in the middle.
Options : Size of central space, difficulty
Challenges: Limited growing and construction zones, and possibilty of early mech attack;

although this may be better suited for a new biome, I like my references :)

Guys, any way to construct any of the weapons in-game? If not, rooki1, would you consider making the weapons and armor available for the pawns to create at crafting tables?
I'mlooking into modding, and could attempt to make a craftable version of the weapons, with rooki1's permission, of course ;)

And even if I don't get permission, I'll try it, as an excersizeto help me figure out what I'm doing here :P

Mods / Storyteller mods?
November 30, 2015, 10:12:44 PM
Hello! I just wanted to ask about all the story telling mods there are, and where to find them. I'm hopin to maybe be able to make a super-post of somekind with a long list of grouped mods...or maybe I should just get out my html code book and start mis-using blogger again ;)

Anyway, I was looking for new and interesting storytellers, because I'm kind of bored with the base ones (Pheobe is really spaced out, Randy tends to either totally screw you over, or lets you live for a while, then screws you over, and Cassandra gives an even curve into difficulty, most of the time), and I heard about a story teller that's focused on huge populations, which has always entertained my sadistic mind (I'll probably end up burning them all or letting them go mad from stacks of corpses everywhere) with all the possibilities  ;D
