So I own the non-Steam (SendOwl) version of the game, I'm too lazy to convert to Steam or set up a NexusMod account, I guess I'm just out of luck?

General Discussion / Re: Is this game suppossed to be taken seriously?

The correct answer is, "No, you're not supposed to take this game seriously". There are large scale intentional deviations from anything rational and reasonable all over the place. Laughing at the game is a large part of the point of Rimworld.
Once you've learned that lesson, the game can be a lot of fun

Hey, be thankful you get a warning now, used to be you found out a colonist was being hunted was when the predator was already munching on his arm. Especially aggravating when foxes would kill humans.

Yes, whatever infections he gets from treatment without medicine are usually easily resolved once you get medicine in him. Unless he has bad kidneys.

How determined are you to save him? If you send several colonists out with construction supplies, you can build a small hut with a sleeping spot (set to medical), a campfire, and a medicine stockpile. Then rescue or capture as desired. That's usually faster than trying to drag him back to base and watching him bleed out on the way.

Why do you have the fire zone aligned north-south instead of east-west? If your colonists were lined up on the left they wouldn't have to walk as far to get into position, so setup would be faster.

Funny you should mention that, that's exactly what my brother did when he poked himself in the eye. "Why do you guys have to interrupt me when I'm talking? I got distracted and poked myself in the eye while waving my hands around in frustration! It's all your fault!"

This is why with the "Pawns are Capable!" mod. It's ridiculous that one pawn will refuse to wrap up the injuries of another and stop him from bleeding to death. With the mod they just get mood penalties which ensure that you're not training them to be competent medics... so if you do have to rely on them, they are going to suck at it. Which is perfectly fair.
The only part of it that's OP is that pawns prohibited from "Violent" are too effective in combat. Combats usually don't last long enough for the mood penalties to kick in significantly.

General Discussion / Re: Where to craft Turret CRATES? Pls Help

I have no idea which mod you are talking about, but ordinarily in Rimworld you do not build "crates". Instead you construct "buildings", which can be un-installed creating an inventory item with a crate-like appearance.
So you probably have to build the 50BMG gun at your workbench, then have 70 steel handy, then you can start assembling the turret.

This is strange. I used this approach a lot to get useful prisoners alive: shoot them a little then wait till they pass out due to blood loss.
But the total damage is small, so bleeding out is sufficient to drop them without killing them. (Does falling due to blood loss reduce the frequency of auto-death?)

Shouldn't healer mech serum take care of luciferium addiction?
(Irrespective of whether it actually *does*, it seems like it *should*...)
