General Discussion / Strange Rimworld dream I had'
January 30, 2020, 08:27:47 PM
So the other night I was playing the game late and thought , Damn I better get to bed I have to be at work in 6 hours. So for about two hours I just laid there kind of awake but still mostly asleep and I had this dream about Rimworld.  In it I was building walls and such and then someone needed an operation to remove mechanites or something done.  Instead of the doctor just performing the surgery , the doctor got in a submersive suit with bigh claw arms on it then shrunk to microscopic size . a new sub map like set up camp might make formed but the map was the patients body . The doctor then started moving through hallways that were really the patients body and fought off the mechanites. It was reaaly strange but I immediately woke up and thought wow that would be a great mod.  lol  . If you ever saw the movie Inner Space or Fantastic Voyage  it was like that.

Ideas / Re: [A18] Bed research

What I think they should need to research are increasingly better forms of tools. Primitive tools being stone or wooden axes , hammers , and weapons, able to build primitive level walls , doors, and furniture , but would have a global penalty to building, chopping, farming , damage.  As you increase tool research levels the penalty decreases and new build options open .  Other offshoot researches could be power tools to give a bonus to chopping , building ,etc.. and precision tools to allow electronics and medicines .

So you can only get this through Steam yes no?

Cool I was thinking about doing something similar a while back , and the surgery was the only way I could see it working. Didn't get it working though . Well done.

I edit the files to allow the drills to be movable.

I really wouldn't care much that making blocks raises construction except that it seems to be the biggest priority to cut those blocks over doing any other construction. Now if I want to have a specific pawn build stuff I cant also have a second pawn with a lower skill make blocks because seems like the higher skill guy takes over the block cutting always and the lower skill guy fails at making expensive component stuff.  Maybe masonry should be a skill for making blocks.

To those saying piracy isn't theft, you are wrong. You don't buy the software. You buy the experience the software allows you the chance to have. If you Take the experience without paying for it , you are stealing.

I always play with a mod that lets me make bionics . So I always chop a leg off any prisoner I want to recruit or use as an organ donor. This prevents prison breaks and berserk prisoners. It also allows me to wait out a drug addiction safely . Then when they get recruited , I give them a peg leg until a time where good meds , good docs and bionics are available .

You can banish them , but not make them join another faction. Strip them of everything and send them on a solo caravan with no food. They will die in a few days.  No one should get a debuff unless they are a relative.

What made them start fighting? Did they have competing traits like idolater and chemical fascination? Did the killer have blood lust ? I usually don't accept blood lust colonists as they cause too many problems

I always have a separate folder with a copy of all mods I use when I play.
