General Discussion / Re: Introduce yourself!

What introduced you to RimWorld? Or to this style of game in general?

I searched, "Sci-fi colony game" in google during A11... sold.

fav other game: Dark Souls 3.

embarassing: I'm just generally bad at games. Good thing losing is fun?

cereal: Honey bunches of oats with ALmonds!

I also always pick a favorite colonist. :)

If you can win all the games, why would you even want to play? Sounds pretty damn boring. For me, not knowing whether I can pull it off is fun. When I see impending, unavoidable doom, I like to see if I can make it more interesting. All this bellyaching...... This is what happens when people give their kids participation trophies.

As far as the storyteller goes, I'm pretty sure they are only half of the story. Your actions should also have an impact. Maybe try to think of Cassy as the teller, but you are the Ghost writer?

I dunno. In this game, winning isn't everything. If you take it too seriously, you might end up like the "Drudge."

General Discussion / Re: Tribal vs Colony

I've been going through this challenge. One thing to keep in mind is artificial limbs must be bought. At one point, I had two disabled prisoners and one colonist... but then pack of manhunting wargs killed one of the prisoners. That was cool. Now I only need to find two peg legs.

Tynan should have hired this person long ago.

I am personally excited about the bug nests. I totally plan on finding and controlling the nest in order to steal their jelly! It's like a much more dangerous bee farm. And if this is not possible, I look forward to conquering these vermin, waging bloody war within the walls of the mountain.  OOORRRRRR figure out some way to sick em on some unsuspecting mechanoids whilst dropping mortars on the whole bunch...  and then stealing their jelly!!! This is gonna be great!

The solution for that is additional coolers, double insulation and airlocks.
Which wouldn't happen in real life, unless you use a cooling tower or a heat exchanger with water to dissipate part of the heat.

All electric coolers use heat exchangers based on the carnot cycle.  What did you think the ones in RW use?
