I just had the most surprising event when I got a notification of my only female Labrador getting pregnant as I knew she was already pregnant. I open the animal screen and see there is a puppy literally just 2 hours old. I mean, just how long ago does a animal need to have given birth to get pregnant again. I have even given them free roam across my entire map except the food storage.

There are plenty of these special predefined pawns, but most of them are paid ones where you could pay and design a pawn with the traits and skills of your choice.

I havent tried it lately but back when taming was released, chickens were the ultimate animals. there reproductive rate is so high that you could afford to send hundreds of them at the attackers while staying back and killing them. If 50 odd die, then you will get them next season and have all the  meat too. same for squirrels. fast breeder and super fast animal that is small size so pawns are more likely to miss. if you dont want the animals to die then elephants and thrombos make mice meat shield. Not sure if its been patched out now, but there was a small flat chance that you could tame the thrombo by event while you are tending to it from all the wounds you cause to bring it down.

I found out why i am unable to have trees. they have indeed been removed from the biome defs.

On a unrelated note, i am having a problem with my fermenting barrels. I am using the [SYR] Blueberries mod and i am unable to build the universal fermenter as its not showing up in the list. Upon building the normal fermentor, it is disappearing with the following error. I have the mod as the last in the list of all my mods and i am not getting any mod conflicts on startup

If by research, you mean tree sowing, then yes, its been researched. Maybe its my mods. Can you tell me which file to look at to check that.

is it possible to farm trees indoor on a ice sheet map? I have already researched tree sowing and my growing area doesnt add any trees and the land caravans are nearly not there. So am i restricted to only the space merchants for all my wood needs? there is 1 town 2 days travel away from me so i might get some wood there but its also on an ice sheet. I am playing with the map set on the coldest setting

There will be around 3months ideally before a18 comes and there was nearly no change in the learning curve, like someone said earlier. a17 took so long because it was a primarily bugfix one and also had an open beta for a month, something i dont remember happening before(from a8). You could mostly change to a17 and not notice much difference.

turrets are research locked. So you will need to unlock them unless you start as the lone adventurer

Im not saying pirating it is ok in any way. Just saying people got accustomed to it so much that they no longer consider pirating something to worry about. End of a tale.

Well coming from a third world country where the daily min. wage is 2.75$, It is really hard for anybody to expect most people to be able to afford any game. And once you pirate for more than a decade, it truely becomes a culture where it is hard to find any legal buyer. Of course I don't condone first world piracy but I can definitely understand them. Hell the only reason I can afford this game is that I earn more than my parents and even I had pirated it when I was still studying.

I remember Tynan saying at the time just before the steam release that 'please dont buy the game at unauthorized sites even when they have a 90% discount. He would prefer if people pirated it than that.' Of course that was because those copies were criminal copies bought from stolen credit cards and what not.

On topic though, I don't think the mods will mind this topic too much. It is not actually encouraging piracy and rather asking those who have already pirated to come clean and buy the game for themselves and others too.

the only times i reload is when i get scars(outside of social fights) and death that was avoidable by micromanagement. Randy extreme is FUN as it is.

By using traps, you mean cheesing the game path logic, while by turrets, its cheesing the a different path logic again. Not much difference there other than that you can use turrets without cheesing if you want to. Atleast, the drop pods make both obsolete.
