surviving really depends on the biom you are landing. with less knowledge of the game, iceshield or hot biomes can be very hard.

General Discussion / Re: Cassandra vs Randy
August 14, 2016, 09:55:26 AM
I think all AI scripter have the same calculation of threath

watch this: https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/3a7u65/are_the_raids_sent_against_you_calculated_by_time/

Randy dont care about Conditional probability. So he might send 3 bad events to you or sometimes 3 good events. Cassandra take more care about that and not sending you to much bad/good stuff at one time. She will try to mix that.

So surviving at randy is more rng. When you did one year at randy ppl can still say, you just got lucky.

General Discussion / Torches - Glitch ?
August 14, 2016, 09:45:36 AM
Here are 2 Screenshots which are showing a heat-by-torches setup. I know torches do little heat. But in this case they equal 7 Heaters. Temperatur difference is -60°C to 19°C = 80°C

Im not sure if this intendet or so. But torches combined with this vent setup are much more efficient than campfire (which equal one heater). So all 8 torches cost 8 wood per day compared with 6-7 campfires, which cost 60-70 wood per day.

A lot of people have the problem that their vegetation doesnt regrow after a fire starts.

For example i start a game on a small hill temperated forest:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=729574966

As you can see trees/bushes/grass automaticly respawn at the edges of the map. But for some reasons they dont regrow into the middle of the map. This screenshot did make over 1 year after a huge bushfire. Temperature do fit so thats not the reason.

Another screenshot where you can see clearly the problem: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=732059894

I think the problem is that the chance of spreading of grass seeds is just too low. Especially for trees. I waited another 1 year and no tree did respawn.

So maybe some modder is able rewrite this settings or whatever this is and make fix for this problem. I would be very thankfull, because im searching for a fix of this problem. I already posted it under bugs. But there are so much bugreports at the moment.

Trees, bushes and other plants doesnt natually respawn on the center of the map. At the edges, they spawn like normal.

I restarted the game several times and the bug occures every time. Here is a savegame:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/bd0vqt5zbbqi0ey/Salvation_%28Permadeath%29.rws

You can see the bug this on this screenshot. The left side has still trees and other plants and on the right side it wont regrow. I waited on this savegame over a year, but nothing changes.

(i play with no mods)
