You wouldn't be able to do 'JackTheBeagle':

QuoteNo Internet handles and nothing that sounds too much like an Internet handle.

You could do something like

Jack 'The Beagle' Smith

or

Jack Beagle

Because a LOT of older accounts have been compromised, turned into spambots, and are posting those 'casual dating' spam messages.

Creative Rewards / Re: Unable to correct my name.
May 01, 2024, 10:09:36 PM
Ah heck. I don't have access to the creative rewards side, but to change your name or to get help, please send an email to [email protected] - I'd suggest titling it something along the lines of 'Name In Game Support' to insure it gets seen by the right person.

All names must follow the standard guidelines posted here. Specifically:

QuoteNo names of public figures or celebrities, or known fictional characters or anything else copyrighted.

That being said, if it's just your first name or nickname, that would be fine.

Neo Jones = good

Tom 'Neo' Anderson = bad

Support / Re: Modded But Vanilla?

The actual logfile is needed for troubleshooting, not screenshots. Images don't give the full details.

Click the 'Copy to clipboard' button, and it'll copy the whole log. Use a site like Pastebin to paste it in and share the link.

Keep in mind, though, that the forums still do not have much traffic, and you're unlikely to find any help here. You can try coming to the Community Discord server and pop into the Troubleshooting channel where we support both modded and unmodded (make sure you read the pins!).

There are also some fairly knowledgeable folks on the r/RimWorld subreddit who may be able to help.

General Discussion / Re: I MUST COMPLIANT !!!
April 28, 2024, 03:53:09 AM
Our translator teams are comprised of volunteer testers from our community, and are not employed by or directly affiliated with Ludeon. We contract them to provide translations for our titles, but other than that, we have no say in their behavior or actions beyond the task for which we contracted them.

We're sorry to see disagreements like this pop up, but unless there is something on official Ludeon-run platforms (the forums here, the Steam discussion board and workshop, the RimWorld subreddit, et cetera) that either breaks our rules or the rules of the platform's host, there is nothing we can do.

I might suggest contacting the host or moderators for the places where this is taking place; it is possible they will be able to assist you in resolving this.

Creative Rewards / Re: Regarding Missing Names
April 26, 2024, 06:12:44 PM
Quote from: TheVillageGuy on April 26, 2024, 07:36:24 AMHow do we check if or names are still in the game?

Open the Options, then Gameplay, then open up the 'Preferred name in game'. Type in your name, and see if it comes up. If it doesn't it's missing, and needs to be added to the list.

We will not be adding any sort of subscription or paid-for addons like this, beyond full and complete DLCs. You're welcome to post it as a mod idea, though.

Basically it's the set amount of time it is guaranteed to happen.

For instance, yours is 0-10. That means it could occur any time between you landing and 10 days after landing. It could be on day 5, could be thirty seconds after you pop out of the pods, it could be on day 10.

Selecting the 'repeat' means it will occur every 0-10 days. So you could get unlucky and have several raids a day because RNG gave you the short end of the timer.

If you want to make sure you have time to rest, recover, and clean up the battlefield, you should give yourself a few days minimum. Maybe set it to 7 minimum and 14 maximum, or something - that'd give you one week guaranteed rest (other than naturally-occuring events), then afterward,  you can anticipate a new one any time in the following week.

For the sake of efficiency and ease of use for all parties we're moving away from using the forum for bug handling; reports are now logged on Discord.

If your game is unmodded, please visit the #bug-reports channel in the official development server: https://discord.gg/yA3QGzHMK6

If you are having issues with modded versions of RimWorld, you can visit the #troubleshooting channel in the community server: https://discord.com/invite/UTaMDWc

Please have the following information ready for your post on either server

For the thread title, write a one-line summary of what happened with version in [brackets] at the start.

BAD: "Sieger AI bug". This is not a summary, it's a label.
GOOD: "[1.5] Siegers eat each other after running out of food". Succinctly summarizes the issue.

When reporting a bug, please include:

1. What the circumstances were.

2. What happened.

3. What you expected to happen.

4. Steps we can follow to make the bug appear on our machine. This part is important! We need a set of steps which we can follow to get the same results you're seeing. Ideally you'll test these steps to make sure they work from scratch.

5. Savegame file
It's very helpful to include a savegame, especially when you have trouble reproducing the bug.

- Windows users can find their save files by clicking the 'open save games folder' button in the in-game Options menu.
- Mac users don't have it quite so easy, and you will need to navigate to the save folder manually, which can be found here: /Users/your user name/Library/Application Support/RimWorld . Or you can search for .rws files. Although note that the Library folder could be hidden which might prevent you from both navigating to it and searching for .rws files. More information on where and how to find your save files on the Mac can be found in the following post/thread: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=35625.msg367050#msg367050

If your savefile is somehow too large to attach to Discord, you may be able to attach it after zipping it with a utility such as WinRAR or 7zip. If it's still to big to attach then you can upload it to Google Drive / One Drive / Dropbox / Zippyshare (or other such cloud storage / file sharing service) and post the download link in your bug report.  Make sure you make the file shareable to anyone that has the link, if using Google Drive.

6. Log File
Posting a log file means uploading the log RimWorld generated. Here's where to find it:

    Windows: %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Player.log

    Mac: Users/<YourUserName>/Library/Logs/Unity/RimWorld by Ludeon Studios/Player.log

    Linux: /home/<YourUserName>/.config/unity3d/Ludeon Studios/RimWorld/Player.log

Note for Linux: You must run RimWorld from the console or the log file will not be created.  If you don't run RimWorld from the console, you may find the log at /tmp/rimworld_log
