Ideas / Relax mode
June 14, 2014, 12:57:42 PM
How about a new mode for colonists that allow them to just chill in home regions, just eat and sleep basically? With the introduction of Centipedes I like to send squads instead of everyone and rotate people out as they get weary. Sometimes if I don't catch them a free colonist will run into the battlezone to collect stuff and get shot. Plus it would let the replacement get "fresh" for the battle to come.

If it recovers I think I'll add turrets in that open area just to see what happens next drop. Had 11 cents in the open a bit before this. day 799

Base drops with 7-1 odds. 4 out of 15 did survive but its all in shambles.

I like to click the beaken to pull its area up then use the plans feature to draw its outline.. very helpful.

Ideas / Beds...
June 12, 2014, 01:12:07 AM
I personally would LOVE to be able to tell a rescurer/capturer wich bed to take an incap colonist/prisoner to. On top of that, having an option directing the path to be taken would help also. I cant count the number of times Ive gone through the bed reassignment routine to get a gravely injured person to either the closest bed or a quickly placed sleeping spot. If theres a free bed they will try to go there <even through enemy lines> instead of the placed spot a few blocks away. It would just be nice to override ownership of a colonist bed or designate where a prisoner is to be taken as long as its a valid "cell".

General Discussion / Re: Alpha4f difficulty

I'm enjoying Rimworld, 650 ish days so far, over 50 raids, Arachnids, PA and the Kitchen mod mainly oh and workplaces. Alot of the fun is ramping up defensive strategies as the raids ramp up. I like to keep in mind that these people are here to prosper, not just survive so I sell lumber, excess food, weps... etc. Ive lost alot of people and have been almost out a couple of times but were at 15 strong now. Toughest to deal with are Cent drops in the base, about 4 of those 5,5,6 and 6 in strength. Its not impossibly hard but it is challenging. Thank you for a great game!!!

So I like the weapons racks a lot but would it be possible to change the default storage to all weps off ? I only keep about 10 different  weps and have to uncheck everything. Please :)

So day 345 and 5 centipedes drop in on top of me catching 5 of my 10 dudes in the open harvesting... 2 dead quick, long firefight resulting in 1 left on his feet and 3 wounded with one of those broke in restraints. The other 3 starved in bed before the fight was done. Recovering now... I'd like to change my vote up one notch. Oh, one burned in bed wounded :(

Early game is a little challenging until proper defenses are set up, after that I havn't really been challenged. Even with the Arachnid mod running, once you work out how to deal with them it's free meat. No turrets and I havn't faced more than 25ish opponent human raids. Maybe another difficulty level that the AI adapts and destroys sandbags and/or bust in walls instead of taking the route the player has preplanned. Dunno, I love this game but after a while the challenge is more about getting setup than anything else.

This is a lot of fun and not too tough once you get a way of dealing with the bug horde worked out. Its extra meat now.
