Check out this mod.  http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=962732083

Does this mod really help with performance on the late game / very old colony? I build my ship but I don't want to leave my colony because I've invested so much time into it and playing it is still fun for me.  8)

I always think about my colony before sleep.  ;D I had a dream once that I was in a cave and was running away from infestation.  ::)

I like my colony.

What do you think - how much time I have before new alpha is released making my current save unplayable?

Is there any minimal break (cooldown) between infestation? Do you know what is the value of that cooldown?

General Discussion / Penoxycyline and plague
August 15, 2017, 03:25:12 AM
Does taking penoxycyline after my pawn caught plague (minor) help? Or it is too late and I'm wasting that drug, so I should better focus on giving him better medicine and good doctor care?

I invested many hours in my new colony in A17. What will happen when A18 will be released? Will it break my save? Will it change game rules?

I want to finish my game on A17 rules, so how can I prevent my steam game from A18 auto-update?

you are one of that persons who slam all the doors behind them ?
I say opening and closing a door the normal way slows you down .. especially when you are carrying something

Yea, but I'm talking about a situation where doors are left open. I never close doors between rooms inside my apartment.

I think it's because you have two opened doors next to each other. I remember reading something about there being an exploit to do with doors being next to each other.

You are right! I didn't notice that! But it is still kind of strange....

I know, but in-game there is also an option to hold the door open permanently (not closing them).

And I'm talking about that situation.

Hi,

Rimworld game is great! I've played it for 300 hours, but there is one thing I can't understand.

Why going through the open door slows pawns down?

I have been crossing open doors all my life and it has never, not even once, slowed me down.

Any ideas WHY they made it like so?

Dusters, definitely. They protect torso, arms, legs, and give pretty good damage protection. Duster is good against heat too. You can make button-down shirts and pants as well, but they don't protect as much. You could make a cowboy hat but the only benefit is insulation, and you may want to wear a helmet in combat.

Thanks!

I have a hard time seeing the point of devilstrand, when plasteel and power armor is far easier to come by.

How do you get amouts of plasteel needed for that? Trade?
And doesn't devilstrand duster protection stack with power armor protection?

General Discussion / What should I make with devilstrand?
February 17, 2017, 05:39:33 AM
Hi!

I finally harvest some devilstrand. But I don't have much supply of it. I want to make first set of clothes for my 1 key colonists.

What parts of clothes should I make for him and in what order to ensure him best protection in combat? I live in biom with temps between 8 C - 32 C, but regularly have heat waves during summer ~ 50 C.

General Discussion / Re: Shot by [X] info - explanation

Shooter is capped but you can still get 100% hit rate.  The most common example is a good shooter with a good sniper rifle vs a centipede.  Due to 200% size multiplier you can hit 100% of all shots on the centipede, though it will deflect some due to its armor every shot will hit.

Ok, I understand why "DocSnipe" has 100% hit change...

But why "Gifted" has only 44%? What makes such big difference between "DocSnipe" and "Gifted" hit chance? (100% vs. 44%)
