Heavyfur is better than devilstrand, just keep hunting those megasloths.
I was under the impression devilstrand is superior. However, before it is grown, hunting megasloths is a good idea anyway since Heavy Fur is the best "leather" (aside from thrumbo fur) and megasloths don't fight back, so it's low risk. Plus you get tons of meat too.

Last i looked devilstrand only has 40% sharp armor, heavyfur is 46%

in most colonies I simply skipped most armor until I got power armors. Now they are harder to make, but there is also an alternative.
Yes, there is alternative. Devilstrand. Devilstrand set with optional flak vest (I want devilstrand flak vest!) can offer more or less the same level of protection as power armors, while being cheaper in research and production and offering much better insulation. In fact, I see no reason to switch to power armors even when I can afford them. Combat protection difference is non-existent (a pack of manhunting hares would tear you apart in a second anyway, so why to bother).

Good players should impose handicaps for fun imo. I have done some creative things to spice it up lol. Full cannibal is a common one.

Or the reddit community's favourite, all clothing must be made of human leather.

Am i misunderstanding something from the changelog?

The only way to get masterwork and legendary items is through inspiration now? Iv'e just had a crafter produce a masterwork parka with no inspiration.

I would like that! More personality for our pawns and watching how they get along with each other would be awesome!

Unlike more weapons or furniture this isn't something that can be added by mods.

Does the mod Psychology not do this to some extent?

Bugs / Random black artifacting during gameplay
January 25, 2018, 12:44:58 PM
I am experiencing some black blocks appearing across the screen while playing rimworld, seems more often when using higher game speeds but not sure.

I have not seen any artifacting in other games and have run Furmark for 20+ mins without any noticeable glitches so i don't think its a hardware issue.

Display device is a gtx 780ti.

Not an expert, but I believe this is intended behavior. Animals can sometimes access food outside their "allowed area" also. I think Tynan did it to make animals more realistic and difficult to manage.

Some arguments over on reddit over chairs providing comfort while drilling, some people report chairs providing comfort sometimes but not others, some people are saying chairs never provide comfort. Personally i've never seen chairs give comfort in B18 while drilling.

Is this bug behavior or what?

After looking again i'm seeing the stats that are boosted. I missed the "100% max" that is listed next to the bonuses. Didn't realize this was changed.

Have many colonists with bionic limbs, bionic eyes give a bonus to shooting but bionic arms show manipulation at +0.0 in the shooting accuracy tab.

On further investigation no stats are receiving manipulation bonuses such as crafting speed.

Im just wondering if its possible to assign points values to the traits, otherwise there is no incentive to use bad traits with the points based system except for flavour. Eg. beautiful should be 100 points, pretty 50 points, ugly -50 and staggeringly ugly -100.

Is there some technical barrier to this? if not i would like to see it implemented.
