According to Rimworld fiction primer(https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pIZyKif0bFbBWten4drrm7kfSSfvBoJPgG9-ywfN8j8/pub) there would be no real aliens, but even if those "aliens" are just humans it just doesn`t fit the lore. Why would you ever go for a very risky trip in a cryptosleep sarcofagi just to get a 1/100 of the trip cost and possibly lose some people in that trip?
I would love if there where more options to have angry invaders of different kind, and more defensive structures to choose from to survive these attacks. For instance:
-A zombie virus is active for x months, and in that time any unburried corpses can rise and attack, and zombie hordes may attack during this time.
-An alien race approach and demand something valuable from you. If you refuse they will attack you 3 times over the next year, so be ready!
-A guard tower for your defense.
-A moat, generally just an obstacle that slows you down.
-Mines.
Thanks
Z-level will never be implemented - Tynan mentioned this, and without z-level there would be no watchtowers. Moat is flowing in many mods now - I think it would be implemented in future. And about mines - there are deep drills. Why in 5500 A.D. you would use big careers in you could just analyze, put a drill and get all the resources without spending huge amount of time and money and also destroying landscape and natural habitat for many kinds of animals? If you really want a mine install Industrialisation.

). Any help?
