General Discussion / How do you deal with blight?
November 30, 2017, 09:15:24 AM
I'm struggling with how to respond to the new blight mechanic.  How do you all respond when blight appears?

Blight seems to be able to cross at least one tile, does anyone know if more than one will stop it?

Please no "mod it away" responses.

Yes it;s overall quality, although it;s not clear to me how it is measured.

I aim to keep a stock of fresh clothes in the 90-100% range, and I have certainly seen colonists change what they are wearing for something else.  The thing they took off, if within the range, will get put back in this stockpile, and if a new pawn arrives and needs an outfit, they will then use it.

So there is clearly nothing wrong with the garment itself, and pawns are willing to wear it without complaint.  But they will replace whatever they are wearing with something better, if something better is available.

eh? I didn't know colonists having mental breaks could wander of the edge of the map?.

They don't any more, this was a few versions back.

Thanks folks I used the Animal Tab mod.

It is for nobody but the artist to say when an artwork is finished.

Rimworld, as a game, is more than feature rich enough to stand on its own and justify its price.  You, or I, may like this or that thing added, changed, whatever, but it is frankly not our right to demand any such thing.

In fact it is more often the case the designers spend far too long fiddling with something that is already 99% their vision, when they would be better served walking away and doing something else.

The game only has so many animals in it, and they are all genetically modified anyway.  You can;t really expect anything to work exactly like its Earth namesake.

I think mine was when I had only just survived a raid by mechanoids, and I had two colonists left.  One was in a medical bed, and the other was putting out fires.  The one fighting fires went into a mental daze, and the one in the medical bed was consequently burned alive.

Then the one with the mental break wandered off the  map and it was the end of the colony too.

If anyone can tell me how to manually change this name, I'd appreciate it.
