Ideas / Don't eat the whole grass!!!

Hi All! I am currently using growable grass mod, so my herds can graze in my territory. My problem is when the grass matures (66% if im right), my animals eat the whole plant and my colonists are planting grass 99% in their time. I was thinking if it is possible to leave some grass behind, let's say 5%, just like when it is sowed? Because animals should not eat the roots of the grass and my colonists could free up a lot of their time.

Sir, You are a genius! That harvester is a great idea! It would crash like a ship part, attracting the boomers and they should enter the harvester like your own pets into a landing pod (obviously without explosion), collecting all of them from the map. The harvester should also act like the ship part, so if you attack it during its harvest, mechaniods would pop out and defend it.

I am sad to hear that it is coded like that, however, like the idea of a fire immun predator. Is it possible for the predator to have an ability like the firefoam popper, so when the boomalopes/rats explode, it automatically extinguishes the fire?

I am currently using a mod that enables wild animals to mate. After two ingame years the boomrat population is at about 200, as no predators would hunt them. I would like to see a predator that hunts basically boomalopes and boomrats without causing explosions.
