I extracted everything into a folder on my desktop. Is that the problem?

Hey, so whenever I try to lunch the game I only get a black screen. I have tried redownloading. Deleting Old mods. Updating Grapichs driver, rebooting and then redownloading. Anyone have more suggestions?

Hey, I downloaded Rimworld alpha 4, but after extracting the files and opening the game I get a bunch of errors in the command field. 
Errors like:
WWW error loading content from (C:\Users\.......):
Couldn't open file /C\Users\....
Could not load System.String at Namebaks/.....

If I try to start a new colony I get the error:

Getting random element from empty list.
Array index is out of range

Help is needed.
