For instance in the following youtube video:

I wonder what mods and dev tools are used in there, anyone has any ideas?

Well this only gives me very limited control over the different aspects in a battle, plus since I need to control my colonists it wouldn't be a battle between AIs. I wonder if there's a way to easily designate two groups of pawns as enemies. Or if this isn't possible, at least get pawns to fight each other like a battle royale death match situation.

Mods / Mod Suggestion - Battle Simulation Mode
December 17, 2020, 02:10:21 PM
Hi guys, I've posted about this idea a while ago in general but no one responded so I decided to try my luck in the moding section. Basically I think it would be pretty fun to have a way of sit back, relax, and watch a simulated battle unfold in Rimworld. It seems to be really hard to do in the base game, even when using mods such as no fleeing allowed or faction/character editor. It would be great if there can be a clear cut way of customizing and playing a battle directly, either just for fun, or to test out performance of weapons, armor, implants and their combinations.
Any suggestion of how that might be achieved is welcomed! I'm only a player not a modder so I'm not sure if it is really hard to do, since there is yet no mod out there which does that.

Hi guys, I've been playing rimworld on and off for a few years now. Sometimes when I get a bit bored with colony management I would just randomly start a gun fight through spawning pawns from enemy factions in developer's mode. It's pretty fun to watch plus I can observe effects of different armors and weapons. However, there are a few limitations that I seemingly couldn't quite work around just through dev mode. Here's a list of things I wish I can do, either through dev mode or mods:

1. Designate groups of pawns as opposing teams
-So far I can only come close by directly spawning pawns from different factions. However that would mean that I can't get, say, a group of pirates to attack another group of pirates, since they belong to the same faction.
-Objective: Easily designate a group of pawns as enemies of another group
2. Prevent pawns from abandoning fight and leaving map
-Human pawns sometimes have the tendency to exit the map instead of engaging in a fight. It is especially true when I tried to edit character faction in character edit mod. They would just approach the nearest edge of the map, ignoring enemies firing at them.
-Objective: Force pawns to (hunt down and) engage pawns from enemy group on the current map if any is present
3. Spawning identical, preset pawns
-When I want to try out a certain armor, weapon or combo, it would be great to spawn a group of pawns with the exact same stats and gears. However I couldn't locate an option in dev mode for me to do that. Loading character presets in character edit mod is just too exhausting.
-Objective: Mass produce identical preset pawns

I welcome any ideas, either through the use of dev mode features or external mods. Thanks!

:D That actually worked! You are absolutely amazing @Canute! Now I get to enjoy messing around with the psych of my characters again lol. But seriously, thanks.
FYI Another alternative is available: Enable Dev Mode and you can edit psych in game in the psych panel! (Click dev edit), the downside is that you have to do that every time you start a game, even if playing with the same characters.

Can anyone send screenshots of their v1.0 combo of PC and Psychology working? Perhaps the game's version, mod configurations, and edit panel in PC mode? Perhaps that would help me compare and figure out what is out of place.

Raising the age doesn't seem to work. The button is missing regardless of whether the pawn has an adulthood back story.

Recently I decided to pick up Rimworld once more, only to find that something is wrong with my psych mod and PC mod. Normally you can edit psych by clicking prepare carefully than click the head icon next to background story, but this time the icon is gone--no button what so ever. So at first I wonder if that's an upgrade of the mod, but it's clearly not. I tried using B19 versions, doesn't work. Disabling every mod but hugslib, psych and PC, no luck. Rearranging also didn't work. Did anyone also ran into similar problems? Any idea why that is? A screenshot is attached below.
FYI Psych seems to be working partially--refer to screen shot 2, the button for viewing psych still works.

Very nice save editor!!! Exactly what I've been looking for!
The only issue is, it seemed to be incompatible with A18, I've tried loading an old save and save in A18, and the save can't be opened in the editor. Obviously, I don't want to go back to A17, so can anyone keep it updated? I know it's been a long time, but this is a useful tool for rimworld and I really don't want to see it being discontinued.

Prepare carefully enables editing before games, NOT in game. Is there another mod that enables in game editing?

(Prepare Carefully IG? LOL)

That's what I've attempted to do, however, the number is not displayed in years but a super long number (ticks?), not sure how to edit it precisely. Plus, can't help but feeling tired editing the save frequently. But still thanks! If you can specify the method of edit save (how to edit the numbers per se), it would be much appreciated.

So can't help noticing that all those fantastic options in dev mod do not contain age editing. How can I edit the colonists' age in the game whenever I want? (Since I hope I can let some key characters live forever in some of my saves).
Anything such as dev mode, mods, and edit saves are more than welcome. Thanks rimworlders!

Yeah, I admit that the solution isn't that elegant lol.
But at least this is a proven solution, sort of like an atomic bomb that ends all issues, though I won't recommend deploying this solution, my experience does in some way suggest that reinstalling win 10 WILL help anyone who has identical issues like me.

About that reset feature that you mentioned: Yes there is such an option, but as far as I know this feature will erase your C:// disk's apps (though saving all your personal data). We certainly don't want this to happen. This link I attached before provides an official Microsoft software that aims to reinstall Win 10 without harming anything else and can be completed in 1 hour tops with no side effects (at least for me, still won't recommend it to anyone unless desperate).

Thanks again Calahan! This journey is an unforgettable one, let's put a period here as an ending of this epic!

Okay, okay.
So here's how it is solved.
I've contacted Microsoft's team and their only solution is to let me reinstall win 10 via a software while keeping all my personal data.
Here's a link to the download:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10, just click download tool now and use the tool.
And after 30 minutes of reinstalling. Bingo!
All three mentioned games (including rimworld) returns to full functionality!
So I guess this is an issue related to DirectX that comes with win 10. Thanks to everyone involved in the process, especially Calahan that had gone through the whole thing by my side. This is such an amazing moment and it can't be done without your help!!!
