In the first image is power armor with helm. In the second is the same but with the canvas increased from 132x132 to 164x164, with the armor and helm moved up. So if I'm understanding you correctly, what you need to do is make the armor for every direction and size. Then adjust them to work the way you want them to.  So you can use 1 peace for the whole body. I can provide you with vanilla textures if you want them.

Edit: forgot to say,  you can't make it so the helm is hidden only,  unless you make your own code.

It is possible, and you can use just a head peace that can cover the whole body,  and you won't get errors.  It's all dependent on the code,  not  the graphics.  If you look at an apperral XML you'll be able to find the code to make it happen.

Yeah I'm not sure about colony manager myself, fluffy mods are great though. A good MOD manager is core.

It did mess up for me, but, I have another MOD with assemblies that works from b19 too.  I degress.

Sorry can't help you there, no workshop account. That MOD has assemblies which I'm not experienced with.

I don't know how it was working in b19 with that code in the first place. Here

You still need the orignal mod, just overwrite the file with this one.

None of his mods have assemblies, so you can use his b19 mods in 1.0. If you don't like seeing them come up red you can change the about. XML  target verson from 0.19... To 1.0.0

From testing it'll shut down all mods and cause errors.  Rule of thumb, if the mod has assemblies it will NOT work between builds.  If a MOD doesn't have assemblies it WILL work between builds.
