I had this happen too! Though I didn't realize what happened at the time.
One of my colonist got injured during a raid and died being carried back. His wife and the rest of the colonist didn't get any mood de/buffs (and his wife had a new lover literally the next game day).

Tried assigning a pawn as hunter and I get the notif saying a hunter doesn't have a ranged weapon. She was equipped with an incendiary launcher which is most definitely a ranged weapon (the one she is equipped with had a range of 24) and I double checked with the wiki and it is considered a ranged weapon so I'm pretty sure this is a bug.
Only mod I have is prepare carefully so that shouldn't be the issue.
I picked up the weapon from a raid. It is normal quality at 95%.
She is able to use the weapon fighting enemies, just not with hunting. (I know hunting with a fire-type weapon isn't the best idea but I don't have many weapons right now.)
