automation to some degree and have a way to command imperatives to pawns, like, instead of having to manually command a pawn to do X thing while pushing shift to add it to its cue, I would have the option to mark something as imperative so it gets done to completion when I command it. instead of having to fight the pawn, as they tend to do 1 step of a task, then jump to another one. and you have to keep giving the order to do that important task.

also have a better priority system added, like, when you see a pawn, that falls next to another one, they ignore it completly. or even the doctor taking no action with people about to die, cause nah... sleepy time.
the same thing with cleaning, instead of completing a room they will do a little bit and go somwhere else or to clean the dirt outside.

I think bug should constantly attack your colony and try to break through walls or equipment if necesary to harvest at least one colonist, make it so they have to go al the way and carry a corpse back to create more food not be just a thing that show up from nothing.
and the size of the swarm should increase constantly like for instance first just small bugs then something like a couple of medium sized pests and then something like a behemoth like monster.

make it painful and a deadly threat if not managed properly.
I think it would be great to make a jelly factory but be a real difficult thing

prisoners get arms and legs cut off
they are feed with nutrient paste made from human meat of fallen raiders
the prisoners get their organs harvested and then sold to slave traders
if their stats are good I keep them in vip jails, otherwise to the gulags.

nah not that hard, we would need like 4 variations of texture of things covered in snow for everything, thus ensuring it wont be repetitive at worst it would be 24 textures to add, but not hard to achieve.

I would love to assign a doctor to a colonist o prissoner, for instance, I got 1 guy with an eye surgery have two doctors, one with 4 skillpoints another with 15.... I dont want the 4 points guy mess up.
the same for medical attention to prissoners and colonist, maybe if I could assign a medic to specific colonist I would prevent loosing colonist to infection without micro managing each attention, specially after a combat when you have your medical bay pretty much full

the idea is to provide upgrades to every action.

for instance the plant cutting and planting.
offering a faster way to grow crops besides the hidroponic basin would help a lot, for example

bio stimulating beam.
planting time 30% faster

chemical  fertilizer.
plants grow 20% faster

industrial laser cutter.
cutting plants and trees will take 30% less time

sonic mining equipment.
will reduce the resistance of the nearby minerals making them easier to extract.

kitchen ai assistant.
will reduce the skill requierement for preparing certain diches and reduce cooking time.

holotools wrist band.
reduce the construction time in 30%

construction ai assistant.
will reduce the amount of material used in construction

local biology research
will increase the damage deal to animals when attacked

magnetic vacum cleaner
will reduce cleaning time by 40%

cleaning ai assistant
will increase the area cleaning affect +1, now yo clean 1 block arround the colonist cleaning

medicine ai assistant
will increase effectivenesss in treatments by 15%

medicine formal education
will reduce the chances of damaging a colonist during surgery

combat stabilizer
will stop bleeding and health reduction of a character that is been rescued and will continue the effect for at least 1 hour after rescue.

all these research would take a lot of time. but would help to progress faster through the game and recover faster from the late game raids.

I think the adition to priorize a work station in relation to the colonists, would make much better solution, for instance I have a work station with the order to produce ammo for the cannons... if you have way too many things arround to do, making your colonist do this will take sometime... so, if we add the priority option and set it to critical, a colonist will go there and will start working if he matches the settings of the work requiered. so instead of giving priorities to anything else, the colonist fit for the job will go there if the work station is empty.


the same for the others, butchering, cooking, brewing and smithing.

add both things... stone wall smoothing, and stone wall carving, also for the floor.
as in dorf fortress you can carve decorations in the walls it takes a lot longer but the resoults are amazing, would be made by an artist, the same for the floor.

another couple of idea got my mind when I read the new feature of a second layer added to the floor to dig down. 

first of all its a way to turn mineral into a more profitable industry even when you have a map with a lack of mountains.

second it will make things go a bit faster in the late game

will add more things to play with
the first suggestions is

a new energy source, this time a massive one althou hard to maintain working all the time.
it would be a thermoelectric generator, to make it work you would need fuel resource, this means, clothing, wood, coal or fuel.

your colonist would have to load the machine with this resources to keep it working, this generator will produce a lot of energy and will allow you to use most heavy equipment in your settlement.

the second thing is
the oil extractor, a large machine that requieres a lot of power, the oil extractor will produce fuel which youll be able to use in many other things later in the game, oil extractor wont be able to be in use all the time, because you will need a ton of energy to make it work, so at first will requiere a little micro to do so.

the third machine is the power drill, as you may have gotten a map with a small amount of mountains or resources, trading isnt so reliable cause you will have to turn your colony into a workshop to make things work for you, this will provide some resources to keep your colony with enough minerals to meet your requirements.

you will get from the power drill mineral rock, which you can turn into steel or plasteel at the electric smelter, there would be a random chance of getting different minerals
50% steel 20% rock 10% coal 10% plasteel 5% gold 3% uranium

the fourth machine will make things easier for farmers, the hidroponic lot, building it will get you a 5x5 lot to plant on and you wont need light source for it, only to keep the temperature accordingly

and lastly a new work station
the  bionic workshop, you will need plasteel gold and uranium to create prothesis of high quality, crafting will take time, but you may start your new industry.

bwahahahahahahaha thats so true, I think there should be something called execution range in which you cannot miss... I mean seriously... I've seen colonist like 3 feet away from the prey been like 2 minutes to excecute the animal... it almost bleed to death before he would put it down.

divide colonist into groups or classes, for instance you created a building for an specific group of colonist, you dont want others to come in or the ones in to come out.

other aplication would be to reduce the effects of unpleasant work as moving corposes, butchering other human like lifeforms and such.
