1. What the circumstances were.

Playing the game for a prolonged time. Usually, but not always after combat the bug occurs though, the two bugs might be connected they might not. It's happened many times (more than i can recount).

2. What happened.

Upon playing for a while (30 minutes to a couple hours) either the bottom menu starts disappearing and/or pawns start freezing on certain squares. It is not limited to my pawns. i've seen AI pawns stop/freeze and no longer update till i reload the game (where they were bleeding out and as time passed nothing changes on them, though they still spew blood.. never moving closer to the group waiting for them leaving the map)

3. What you expected to happen.

... not being bugged? The game cant be played when this happens. literally, menus aren't there. and pawns that are stuck can sometimes be moved out of the area but you have to avoid moving over certain squares (move away from them instead of over them and they start moving again. the square(s) remain bugged though if i path back over them without reloading the game).

4. Steps we can follow to make the bug appear on our machine. This part is important! We need a set of steps which we can follow to get the same results you're seeing. Ideally you'll test these steps to make sure they work from scratch.

This usually does it. use 2 or more pawns with melee and kill attackers over and over again in the same spot. summon them using skip. do 5 or 6.

5. Savegame file

i cannot attach it. the save file is 22 megs big. even using 7z at max settings its still 2.2 meg big. which is larger than the 1 meg limit for the forum. I can either provide download link from a url i control or let me know how you want it delivered.

6. Log File

player.log is attached.

i've got two pretty straight forward quest bugs.
1st bug.

1. What the circumstances were.
quest was successful. empire pawns were loaned and they left my map at completion, However, 1 was carring back a pawn of mine.

2. What happened.
instead of dropping the pawn. he walked off the map with him. still neutral while leaving. I got the message "so-and-so was kidnapped!"

3. What you expected to happen.
They should drop the pawn before leaving the map.

i don't have a save as i only ever play on commitment mode. though i did stream it and we can do some digging if you need to see it happen. (its been a few weeks, it might have been on the previous release)



2nd bug happened last night

1. What the circumstances were.
defend the crashed shuttle.

2. What happened.
we were successful in defending the shuttle. 1 of the empire pawns stood up and started tending its wounds while the shuttle landed to take them away. all the pawns got in the shuttle except the one tending his wounds. he proceeded to walk off the map. the quest bugged out waiting forever for the pawn that was not dead or on the map. the timer for the shuttle reached 0 to take off but it didn't leave. eventually i shot at the shuttle and dropped from ally to neutral. (i think the quest failed at that point) i left the shuttle alone and re-allied with the empire using a gift via the transporter pod. upon scrolling back to the shuttle it was gone.

3. What you expected to happen.
the pawn should either get in the shuttle or the shuttle should just leave. it was not a key member (just a defender) of the shuttle.

again, no save but i do have a recent stream of it happening.

3rd bug.

oh and I did have 1 other "bug" but this might have been fixed. again a couple weeks ago,


1. What the circumstances were.
successfully saved downed shuttle people. while playing in swamp biome

2. What happened.
the rescue shuttle landed ... and landed on the old shuttle and it disappeared (no loot just gone)

3. What you expected to happen.
if there really is no where else to put the shuttle (there was) the shuttle should be auto destroyed so i can at least have the components,steel and plastasteel

General Discussion / trying to understand room heat...

when i'm trying to keep a room warm a single hole too many in the ceiling can make the room the same as the outside temperature instantly (say on sea ice). So when a fire started from a siege. i started opening it up well over the number needed. the room was already really hot, but no matter how hard i tried it didnt seem to matter. it felt like a bug. (the only reason i went in to open them up is i thought i understood the game mechanics). but maybe its not and its just something i had never tried to do before. does the room itself radiate heat past a certain point even if its open to the air? i play in vanilla so it wasnt a mod or anything (unless royalty). you can see in the screen shot how much was opened. (yeah i died in the end) it was distressing as you can imagine as i thought it was a good idea and don't understand why it didnt work and just want to know if it should have or what.

it dipped to maybe 100 c eventually and stayed there so in desperation I started opening the hallway and more roof there. but that just made it worse cause of the fire out there though it was really far away and open to the air too.. but at that point it was fine. It was over cause something wasnt working like i expected. anyway, if anyone knows if this is normal or not let me know. (12 squares open to the air and the temp was over 100c before i finally tried the hallway, then it went up over 300 which again is fine.)
