Ideas / Per World mod settings.
August 25, 2015, 04:26:18 AM
Any chance of having mod selections remembered per world? It would make running vanilla and modded simultaneously as one example far simpler. There are more precise ways to do it but per world seems simplest and safe. Perhaps an 'All' option as well.

Bugs / [W 12 - 906] Nonviolent slaughter
August 23, 2015, 07:30:04 PM
Nonviolent animal trainers 'stick' trying to slaughter animals.

repro:
while having a colonist who can't attack as the only animal handler (wandering healer background in my case), mark one for slaughter.

result: they just kinda stand there.

expected: either they don't take the job, or they do the job.

Extra: they still get blood all over via repeated attempt despite doing no damage, no wonder my barn got painted red.
Edit: Now I can't repro it anymore. If someone else sees this try to make note of the circumstances.

Had some beer dropped in transit when pawns were recruited for a raid, since there's nothing for grass for them to eat in the area due to past toxic fallout, the local critters downed it quick and died.  Other animals were going after it as well, but seemed to hold their booze better. [edit: any 'food' eating animal will do the same, just seems to take more for them]

No idea how they got the bottles open, may be a seperate bug ;).

To repo just make a big room with no grass, leave animals locked in with no food till quite hungry (or make them hungry), drop stacks of booze in with them. Bonus points if you combine flamables in the room with boomrats for labrats. Like furry little molotovs.

Bugs / 11.834 medical failure error

Had the game throw an error during surgery to replace a missing leg on a prisoner. My medic goofed - it seems she accidentally cut the missing leg.

General Discussion / Starting Colonists
October 03, 2014, 12:44:05 AM
I've done it.
Randomize.
For me it depends on my goal for the game, am I looking for a long play or a quick round. I'd rather not have my planned long game doomed from the start and will try for a fair spread of skills and avoid anyone too... unreliable. For a quick play anyone not likely to self destruct within the first week is fine as long as they don't all have some incapability in common (IE all assassins)
