Ideas / "Advanced" Water

I have been throwing this idea around for a while and the bulk of it is just adding flowing water. By flowing water I don't mean something that you are able to ride your boat along and drink a beer, I mean something as simple as a small creek that flows through the map from one end to another. It would obviously slow down the pawns,but only a small amount, and might even get them a mood debuf like "Im wet. Its uncomfortable." or if they spend more time in the water "Im soaked and now my clothes are wet as well.". This wont do much -in my head at least- but it will still be an inconvenience. Later on the colonists might need to be hydrated as well. From what I know in coding -which is very little- it doesn't seem like that tough of a job for the great gods of Ludeon. Thanks for the consideration of reading.

Mods / Wall paintings/murals

So I was watching a documentary on the History channel about the ancient Egyptians and this was the first time I actually saw how intrinsic these drawings and paintings are, and then it hit me. Someone could mod in a joy activity that would be allowed in certain areas of caves. This activity will act as a joy activity and as an art piece. Now as common sense would say "But those paintings would need to be very extravagant so they would need to be a high level in art to make this wonderful paintings." and that would make sense but think about this. The ancient Egyptians could probably do this at and old age through teaching and learning from example. Well either way if someone could mod this in it would be amazing and probably a nice and interesting game mechanic if people would come to your colony after it dies of to try to deceifer this if they arent the same species as you.

Mods / Floods and Tides

A simple mod that ads changing water levels and floods. Later on in mod development hydro electric dams can be built which can span a river (also can be used as a bridge and a bridge can obviously be built instead of a resource intensive dam). The floods and tides will be dependent on rain and whether or not it is a river or an ocean. They will both do the same thing the floods and tides will damage buildings apart from plasteel. (floods should also do much more damage) Finally the tides can be stopped by levees.

Ideas / Helping other colonies

Now i understand form the title people think "Oh my god its this crap again" as in multiplayer and raiding other bases but its not. It is something as stupid simple as it gets. (yes i did just say stupid simple) A small mechanic that instead of making it only possible to trade with space ships also making it possible for other colonies that need "help" or are fighting off raiders to lend them a colonist or two. This will obviously need some sort of "strength" meter involved which determines the strength of the two colonies that you may help or fight. I figured that if Tynan got this far into game development i think he could add this. And also thank you for reading this.  ;)

I'm not sure if anyone else is interested in this but if someone were to start maybe an elk farm wouldn't they want to know how long their elk need to be pregnant for before they give birth and if anyone has this information please say the pregnancy times below.

Did anyone think of something like I don't know maybe GW1 (Galactic War 1). This basically means that for several in game years their is a chance for a battle to happen on your door step you can choose witch side you will befriend then all hell can break loose or it can be calm. It will obviously be an amazing event if added.We all cant forget WW2 came out of no where so lets keep this in mind. P.S. Tynan if you read this please PM me so I know.

Ideas / An animation idea.

So I was playing and I realized that people don't usually think from the pawn's eyes. Then it hit me. their is a song made by Wiz Khalifa called see you again. Maybe someone can animate two pawns in a relation such as to very good friend whether they be male or female. Either way if they were to watch the music video they could animate it after that were they show flashbacks of when the two pawns were with each other. The music video showed clips from the fast and furious movies involving Paul Walker who has died in a car crash  :'(. The animator can make it so at the beginning of the animation they can show a person standing over a grave with a name on it and during the part of the song when Wiz is singing about family it can show the pawns of a colony standing around a fire talking. Then the rest is up to the animator. Thank you for reading i really appreciate it. I had seen some threads involving animations but they never really went into detail about the animation so i hope that someone was inspired by this and makes this animation a reality.

i was just going along in my colony on Endor and one of my colonist was standing in the snow not doing anything so i waited for him to move and a snowman appeared.  :)

I am sure that everyone reading this has been in contact with "Trigger".
Well he was in one of my colonies and their was a large raid of mercenary's coming to pillage my colony. Trigger had been injured to the point of where he was completely blind so he had to use melee strategy's. he had ran up to one of the raiders and punched him in the face and broke the mans jaw. As the raider lay dazed on the floor Trigger heard something. A fellow colonist yelling "Trigger get down!". But it was to late. Another raider with a triple rocket launcher had shot at Trigger and hit him in the chest. Trigger had no chance of survival. His body torn apart and turned to dust. One of my colonist Mushinto had a sniper rifle. he saw his very close friend perish so he took action. The heavy mercenary looked directly at Mushinto at smiled. Mushinto put a bullet through the mans teeth and out the back of his head. After the raiders retreated Mushinto ran up to the heavy mercenary and looked him in the eyes one last time as he examined the hole through the mans teeth. Mushinto personally had taken the heavy's body and put it in the deep water so he could be devoured by the fish. Everyday after that raid Mushinto had parayed to god that his friend Trigger was safe.

Mods / Masters of Trades

Has anyone every thought that if a colonist is able to hit every melee shot that they throw that their should be a trait called Karate Master or something among those lines where they can teach other colonists how to do just as well as them. You would be able to teach colonists in every aspect as long as both the skill you want them trained in is high enough and their social skill is say at level 5 or 6. Its just something that i thought of and hopefully people can get behind this.

Ok now that i properly have your attention i was thinking that  you could add something like enemy camps that you can send some of your colonists out to hunt scavenge and fight. I understand that this would probably be a real pain in the butt to code and everything but don't you think that it is a viable idea? I saw this on the mod page and it was someones idea for a mod but i thought "why not take it to Tynan and see if he and his team can add it in". So as you can probably see by now i am really into this idea and i am hoping that other people can say yes or no below this (hint hint). Thank you for reading and i hope you at least test it out and if it doesn't work it doesn't work no biggy.

 So as i am playing in the early game there is a cold snap and my people start to get hypothermia. So i start thinking to myself "A storm cellar". Now obviously there is only one layer to the game but what i did was i made a secluded room in my base and put 6 heaters in the room. The room was 5 by 5 so there was enough room to keep about 5 colonists in this room at a time. Just a small idea that i wanted to say to you guys and a tip.

Ive seen a few things like this before but everyone always says "WEED! GIVE THEM WEED!" look no this is not at all what i mean i mean things like methamphetamine or meth which can be bought and sold or stolen (and used if your like that) or you can find an enemy colonist that has it and turn it over to the police or empire or a ship however you would like to set that up. Now for the more alcohol part i mean things like martinis wine and straight up whiskey and bourbon. These things would take a higher crafting or cooking skill to make but will give your colonists more pleasure.  I know there are some amazing moders out there reading this and if you could make this happen there are some people who wouldn't be happy but some that would. This in my eyes adds just a little bit more realism to the game.

Now I know the first thing that everyone that sees this is going to say "But Tyler theirs a mod that adds all new weapons called Project Armory." yes I know but hasn't anyone else thought of having something like a katana? Well if not I am here to open your eyes to an entirely different group of weapons and armor. I will list them bellow.
1. Katana: a medium sword that is very light can only be made from steel. A special trait is needed to craft it. (Samurai craftsman)
2. Samurai helmet and armor: a heavy armor that doesn't protect as much as power armor (slightly less) and dose not have the temperature affect. A special trait is needed to craft it. (Samurai craftsman)
3. Transparency armor and mask: This armor bends light around the wearer which dose not make them invisible but makes them harder to hit. A special trait is needed to craft it. (Stealth artisan)
4. Gillie suit: Some may know it as a sniper suit. If not seen by the enemy and is standing still can "go prone" and is a lot harder to both see and hit. They can also "go prone" in shrubs or bushes to multiply the effect by 1.5 or so.  A special trait is needed to craft it. (Stealth artisan)
5. Gun rap: this is a "hat" that goes with the Gillie suit and makes it so they are harder to hit. They can also "go prone" in shrubs or bushes to multiply the effect by 1.5 or so. A special trait is needed to craft it. (Stealth artisan)
6. Back pack or holster: These items would be crafted as clothes but allow the wearer to be able to carry more than one weapon or even a sum of food. (No special trait needed)
I know the list isn't very long but I know that there are some amazing modders out there and if someone could maybe even forward this to Tynan we could see it in the game as vanilla.  ;)

Mods / Anti solar flare equipment

anyone else every had devilstrand that is about an hour away from harvestable and a solar flare happen? It is absolutely devastating. so why cant we make something with some copper net around it so the radiation waves are collected in that? and same thing with batteries.

Let me get too the point. Board games. I was sitting in my office chair playing Rimworld and i started getting notifications of hypothermia so i locked all of my colonists inside and was sitting out the winter in a boreal forest. So i started thinking "Hmm wonder if my colonists are board? They are all mostly idle and that must be depressing." So i came onto the forums and posted this to you guys and has anyone thought it would be funny to see a hunter off the king loosing in a game of chess. (games that should be included, chess, checkers, poker, blackjack,  backgammon, and some star wars board games  ;) like Dejarik the game that R2 plays with Chewie)

So as I was playing on my "Military Outpost world" I noticed i was running out of food at an amazing rate and I wouldn't make it through the winter with so many colonist and such a small farm/garden. So the first thing I did was expand my indoor garden (which i just used fertilizer pumps to fertilize the stone inside my mountain) and expand and expand almost to where it would collapse. This thing was bigger than my colony but I still couldn't grow them at a fast enough rate. So I had two brawlers that were just taking up space and food. We did not eat them no. But I still regret what I did. I took them out side and put them side to side with there backs against the mountain. Then i brought four colonists out. One with an Uzi and the rest with M16's. It was a firing squad. I counted down in my head and then made them pull their triggers. they went down almost instantly. but they weren't dead. I sent my custom colonist Ajax to finish the job. He walked up to one with his M16 and put it two the brawler's forehead. She died instantly. The next one he did the same but this one was different. He talked to Ajax before he was killed. I imagine he said "I may die for the colony but i wouldn't die for anything else." Ajax shed a tear and pulled the trigger. They all would be remembered.  :'(

I was thinking of a simple mod that makes it so the colonists have relations with each other such as a chat can make there relation better or worse. If someone is around some they don't like, hate, loath, or despise they get a debuf in global work speed. How much they do like may even give them a global work speed buff.
